Help! How do I restore this pen?

I just impulsively got my first vintage pen, as well as my first pen needing restoration, at an antique store a few hours ago. But, I have absolutely no clue how to restore it. When I opened it, the sac was absolutely dust and the metal pressure bar fell out in two pieces. I expected the sac to be destroyed, but not the pressure bar! So, could anyone please make a step-by-step instructions for how to restore it, as well as what I will need and where to buy it? It would be much appreciated! Thank you!

you could start there WRT to the jbar.

 

I have no personal experience with replacing jbars, sorry.

Thank you, this was really helpful. From what it seems like, I will need a 40mm J-bar (may be a tad too big, but it will do), a size 12 ink sac, shellac, talc, and hemostat.

and if the Jbar is too long you can size it down to the lenght you need with a Dremel or similar, I did it for one of my pens.

I notice that the pen has a lever on the side, so why whould you need a J bar ? If the lever mechanism works fine then you do not nee a J bar, but I might be wrong.

Well, I think you would need one. It also came with a corroded j-bar so I assume the manufacturer intended it to have a j-bar.
