I have a bottle of Lexington Grey (another one that others seem to like a lot but I've never warmed up to) and I might try a comparison later today, if only to convince myself that Earl Grey really is neutral.

I tried a sample of Lexington Grey, and other than the fact that it's pretty water resistant/waterproof it didn't wow me at all.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Yeah, but a #2 dip pen nib is a firm italic/roundhand... 😉  I'll try with a Tachikawa G nib and maybe a fountain pen with a semi-flex nib tomorrow.

Keep us posted ;)

Lexington Grey is definitely not one that 'wows'. And my bottle feathers about as worse as any other ink I have. Earl Grey behaves much better in comparison. I wanted to use LG to compare to EG because I thought LG was a neutral grey. (But now that I have discovered the drab olive undertone, albeit in a very limited condition, I think LG might have good murky potential if the undertone can somehow be brought out more.)

Thanks for the review!  I was on a gray kick a while back, but instead of this one, I got Silver Fox and 'just' Gray from Diamine.  I also mixed a darker gray that I call Greystoke.  😆

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

My voters have had me on a grey kick for quite a while not...  Thankfully, today I inked a different color!  :) Greystoke sounds fun!  Does it swing through jungles?

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 310µm.
