Dip pens with flexible steel nibs are cheap. Vintage fountain pens with flexible nibs in decent condition are expensive. Modern flex pens are a bit disappointing. Fountain pen revolution's Himalaya with an "ultraflex" nib gives you a little bit of a taste of flex for not too much money.

I just purchased two Gillott 357ef’s, now I’m trying to decide what holder to get, if I can’t find a magnusson.

Heh! Find a Magnusson, that will be a trick! Rare these days does not perform any better than any other holder. There is some good craftspersons out there.  Have a look around on Etsy.

Is more important than the amount of tine spread you can spread tines to make fat letters.

 

Suggest dip pens....cheaper.
