I don't recommend doing it. It totally seized my mini converter. Plus, I recommend buying from a reputable manufacturer, Graf von Faber Castell for example makes converters inserted with steel springs - I don't think you can get fancier than that. Pilot makes them with a steel bearings. I truly don't recommend the Kaweco mini converter. It is really troublesome. I tell them like they are replaceable since they are - unlike Sailor who makes them proprietary, all these use standard Schneider converter as the basis.
