NG51 vs Parker 100

Last week I bought another NOS Parker 100, and just yesterday came across this comparison which I found useful and well-balanced, and I should say I mostly agree with the author.

Just about 15 minutes ago on eBay UK, a used P100 Smoke Bronze has been sold for £231 (circa $320) - well above the current retail price of NG51 ;)

The 100 is a good looking pen.

I don't personally care too much for mine, and as a consequence I am considering re-homing it, but I can easily understand why many people would love this pen.

and it is a much better looking pen IMO than the NG51

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

P100 is not only a good looking pen, but it is also a great writer and very comfortable pen :)

IMHO, it is the last best pen manufactured under Parker name.

After P100 nothing decent have been ever made by Newell :(

IMHO, NG51 is just a pathetic parody of the original P51...

I have no complaints WRT how my 100 writes, but for me its a little thick and a little heavy.

so for me, it's more of a signature pen than a write long entries kinda pen.

the NG51 is just... it's a Chinese pen with a vector nib and a price hike and a poorly designed cap.

I haven't seen one in person (thanks covid...) but at this point, no way would I pay what they are asking for one. (not that I would have in the first place, since you can buy a nice REAL "51" for that kind of money)

25$? yeah, maybe, just to say I have one... but that's about it.

I genuinely feel bad for the people who bought one and have regrets. for those who bought one and like it? well, that's why there are different models of pens: because we don't all like the same thing. :)

It is exactly why I do like it: I like its size and its weight and its full metal design :)

Well, I agree... And it is quite good for making notes during meetings...
