New Conklin All American Demonstrator Eye-Dropper Capable?

On an impulse buy, I got a new Conklin All American demonstrator that's advertised as being eye-dropper compatible. They even include an eyedropper in the packaging. However, when the pen arrived I noticed that it has metal parts that would be exposed to ink, specifically the housing that fits the section and cartridge/converter (should you choose to use either instead of filling the barrel with ink).  I'm curious how a manufacturer could advertise a pen as an eye-dropper filler when there are metal parts exposed to the ink.

A query to the shop that sold it resulted in a statement that the metal parts on the Conklin pens have a "coating" that protects them from the ink.

I'm dubious.

Before I attempt to fill this critter up with gallons of ink (it will hold a LOT in that barrel!), can anyone shed some light on the claim that there is a treatment for metal that will make it impervious to damage from ink?

Thanks for any advice.

From my own experience with modern Conklin pens, I'd be dubious about any claim made by the manufacturer Yafa.

While I'm not saying the 'metal coating' is untrue, I'd not accept Yafa's word for it without independent (non-Yafa sellers) confirmation.
