Parker 51 mismatch?

Dear readers,

I bought this 51 the other day, and I don't understand what goes wrong. It was like this when I got it (at a steal) and I thought it would improve after disassembly and reassembly. Not the case, unfortunately.

I can't figure out which parts don't match. The hood (nose somewhat damaged) and barrel match colour-wise and it's sporting an original 14kt nib. The feeder fits the inner part neatly.

Any advice on what to replace to make this a decent 51? Many thanks!

Could be a Parker Demi or Parker 21 hood, they are shorter that the 51's.

If one was forced on, the nib would stick out like that.

Are the nib and feed all the way into the collector.  A demi hood/collector will not fit on a standard size barrel.

They are. I have tried extensively, but there is no movement further into the collector.

The collector fits neatly into to the black middle part.

I have another 51 as well, which has a different filler system. I think it's the same as a 51 special? It's shorter than the filler system in the photos attached to this post. It looks more like a Slimfold filler system. The collector from the pen in the pictures here, does not fit into the black middle section of that pen, as the collector is too wide.

Hope this helps for some extra details.
