Could you help identify this pen?

Dear readers,

I have some trouble identifying this pen, mainly because of the cap. Could you possibly help out? Many thanks in advance for your effort.

Best wishes! 1434862971__86(24).thumb.jpeg.28ac79c15cd652cc7be1b53e34a2d3fd.jpeg891773402__85(12).jpeg.c1928813fc87647febef7f105f8375af.jpeg891773402__85(12).jpeg.c1928813fc87647febef7f105f8375af.jpeg

I assume no imprint on barrel...Nib Does say Parker?? Guessing a Parker Challenger.. or a P. Duofold ??

It seems to be button filler (Blind cap is removable ?)

Regards.

What is the imprint on the nib (it is difficult to read on the pictures). If this pen is a Parker there should also be an imprint on the barrel.

Pen is not with me yet, so I don't have information of any barrel inscription, sorry. Nib seems to say "Parker Duofold Pen Canada" and a nib code I can't make out either. I guessed it would be weird if a Parker nib and Christmas tree feed would make it into a pen with no brand. But stranger things have happened, I gather.

The burgundy colour and cap with two cap bands would be correct for a Duofold but the short cap dome is odd. That is rather Challenger or one of the no-name thrift-time Parker pens. If it is a Parker. The barrel imprint will tell.

Seller indicated that there was no barrel imprint. We'll see when it arrives! Pretty intriguing combination of parts, if you ask me. Who would put a Duofold feed and nib in a brandless pen? @joss could you expand on the "no-name thrift-time Parker pens" you mention? I'll do an internet search in the meanwhile as well, but I must say I don't know much about these times.

Pen arrived today. There is a barrel imprint, the seller must not have been able to spot it because of the fact they did not know what to look for. Imprint somewhat faded but clearly states Geo.S. Parker / Parker Duofold / Made in Canada. Nib has clear imprint Parker Duofold Pen Canada F.

Button (in order to button fil) is missing, no pressure bar either. Soaking at the moment to see if the front section wants to give way.

Cap still somewhat of a mystery. Top cap is too much of a brilliant fit to be a part from another pen. Unnscrews easily to reveal a telltale tube that sits in the cap. Also no indication whatsoever of a clip ever damaging or making scratches on the cap. All parts have the o so significant smell of a vintage fountain pen.

Not a bad find, me thinks!
