LAMY cp1 time table

This is an interesting thread, for I have had three cp1s in my time (including the sterling silver model, long ago stolen from me); but have now relinquished them, for my taste nowadays is for larger-sized pens.  However, I am slightly surprised that no one has had any criticism of the model.

In my experience there was <one> small weakness in the design (or build?)  It was the cap retaining-ring or -spring inside the cap, which gave up after prolonged use -- twice it happened to me and when it does occur, the cap becomes free to slide off the pen when you try to close it.  However, here in The USA, the importers are really good and twice they replaced the internal whatever-it-was and did it for free -- I think they are in New Jersey (?) -- nice, friendly service, too, as I recollect.

Lovely design; nice nib (gold in the case of the silver version).  Good work, Christof!

I seem to have missed this thread before now.

I'm curious about the girth of these pens now, and how they compare to something like a Parker Vector (which I know to be too skinny for people with larger hands to be comfortable to use, but work great for me).

I would say that the grip section girth is very slightly wider than a Vector, but the overall body is thinner because they have metal bodies. They are generally slimline. The older models are even thinner than the newer models, but not by much.

Stolen: Aurora Optima Demonstrator Red ends Medium nib. Serial number 1216 and Aurora 98 Cartridge/Converter Black bark finish (Archivi Storici) with gold cap. Reward if found. Please contact me if you have seen these pens.

Please send vial orders and other messages to fpninkvials funny-round-mark-thing gmail strange-mark-thing com. My shop is open once again if you need help with your pen.
