I've wanted to try a gold nib in my Rose Gold 580 for a while. Not because there was anything wrong with the stock nib, but, well, just because. Each time I ended up with a nib from an unrecoverable vintage pen, I'd give it a try. Every one was the wrong size - too long, short, broad or narrow. 

 

When I ended up with this Skyline nib, it looked about right when compared side by side, so I pulled the nib and feed and it just slid in. I had to do a bit of heat setting to get the feed in contact with it, but it now writes very well. The feed doesn't supply enough ink to allow it to flex to its full extent without railroading, but it's smooth and very pleasant to write with.

Very cool. The results look pretty good with some line variation.  And that color nib is perfect for the pen. 
 

What is the ink you used?

Looks like a good fit; and beautiful photos as well. 

 

Skyline nibs seem to work best with their own feeds, but I don't think there's any way that a Skyline feed would work in your TWSBI. If there is still any issue with the space between the nib and the feed, you can try this, very carefully: take the nib out again, and without the feed press the outside of the nib (the part you see when you're writing) gently against a table or other firm surface, rocking a little lengthwise, with the object of making it curve slightly more towards the feed at the tine end. I've done this a couple of times with gold nibs that I have switched to different pens, and it has worked for me. It doesn't take much of a change to make the flow noticeably better.

Thanks for the suggestion, but nib to feed contact is OK and ink delivery is fine - wet even - for normal writing and moderate and slow flexing. I suspect the ink delivery system was never intended to deliver ink to a flex nib, and I'm very happy with the performance I'm getting.

Oh awesome. I have a bottle of Visconti blue. The shading looked so nice in the photo.
