Lamy Studio paint.

Today I took out a Lamy Studio with black finish and found that the paint/lacquer is sticky and looks like a very used one. You can see the metal base of the pen in some points. The pen was almost unused the last few years. Is there any solution for the problem ?. It is a problem with all the Studio colours ?

Hi Jchch,

I have not encountered this problem with the few Studios I have, but I have heard others complain about tacky, gooey, and peeling paint on their Studios.

I would contact Lamy Customer Service and try to get the pen replaced.

Hello, i know this problem. (i have one of them)

The first batch of the Studio's had a rubber like finish. (like the grip section on the RVS moddel)

This rubber finish was not a succes, they made the switch to normal (paint) finish.

I think you have one of the first Studio's with the rubber like finish.

(as far as i know they only made them in black and blue)

You could say that you have a "collectors item" that is hard to get now a days. 😉
