Even the syringe or eye dropper rely on a pressure differential to fill the syringe or eye dropper before insertion into the cartridge or pen.

I've tried pouring ink from the bottle into a beaker, and the from the beaker into the barrel (which was standing vertically on its closed end) of an ‘eyedropper-filled’ pen, before screwing its gripping section back on to fill the pen with ink. It worked functionally without my making a mess in the process … after about the fourth attempt.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I'll guess a bubble formed each of the first three times.

Actually, no. Just my unsteady hand failing to keep the point of the glass beak pressed against the interior wall of the barrel ~2mm below the rim — specifically to avoid a bubble forming, by allowing the ink to run gently down the wall, and theoretically would also allow me to control the beaker angle and hence flow rate better by virtue of physical resistance against the glass beak.

In another attempt, after I shied away from pressing the beak against the interior wall, I inadvertently let too much ink flow run from the beaker and it overfilled the barrel. (I wouldn't ‘eyedropper-fill’ a Preppy if I didn't want to the initial fill of ink to be >95% of the volume of the barrel's cavity.)

Thankyou for the video and the English subtitles. There were many filler types there that I had heard of, but had never seen, some completely new to me and just a few I have. Seeing them demonstrated was very helpful.

Will work for pens...
