This afternoon I went to a shopping mall at my home country for an ice cream and found a store that had several old edition MBs (Poe, Dumas, Carnegie, non-retractile Bohemes, etc). Prices were ok, and I ended up with a 149 90th anniversary.

Now, anybody knows if MB USA still changes the nib of these pens?

Hi @ak47,

it is actually a jewelry store and they are closing their MB line. They are in Brazil.

the variety is not great, but they do have a few interesting pens (all M).

unfortunately they didn’t have the Hemingway! 😢

My birthday pen earlier this month.  Unfortunately the ink flow is not up to par, so sent it to MB Repair Canada, and they have to send it to Germany to have the flex nib serviced, 8 to 10 weeks turnaround, maybe longer because of the strikes.  Anticipation!

Sigh....10 weeks and still waiting.  MB repair says it's still in Germany undergoing repair.  That's OK, as long as it comes back with the ink flow issue resolved properly.  I'd rather they take their time and do it properly.  Will be overjoyed when it arrives.

Hi max dog

It will return as a wonderful pen!

I appreciate that the wait must be tortuous.

Keep us posted.

Good luck.

Thanks CS388.  I am hopeful it will be arriving any day now.  It will be like getting the pen all over again.  🙂

Purchased and received at the end of April, I just started writing with it. I have generally not been interested in Montblanc special editions, but this one I loved at first sight -- the moderate size, the shape, the incised wave design that really complements the shape, the otherwise understated-ness of it; and now that I have it in my hands, it has a lovely heft to it, and the Fine nib writes very well (this photo is not my pen, but a better photo than I am likely to take).

I think the writers edition line of special editions is the one where I am most likely to find another MB to love. So far I have been discovering them by accident, one by one. I recently found a list of all of them so far (I think, I haven't gone through it yet) so maybe soon I will have a wish list of 2 or 3 more. This one is an excellent beginning (and, if so be it, end).

Congratulations.

A Virginia Woolf F is such an understatedly elegant fountain pen.

Happy writing!

Just bought this from my local Montblanc Boutique today. 😀 It was the last set they have in-store.

I had already mentioned it a little while ago, but after a short trip to "My Jewelry Repair" here is my 149 90th Anniversary with a juicy OB nib:image.thumb.jpeg.17e9b402e2cb74f91ea1a0cd146e9de2.jpeg

The latest acquisition is a 149 Orient Express, which currently is at "My Jewelry Repair" to get an OBB nib.

Another special edition, a Johannes Brahms Donation edition pen, again with Fine nib that writes very nicely.

Congrats to your acquisition! Of all MB pens I have so far, this is the one I love the most. It falls into my hand into the writing position all by itself ... ;)

Enjoy it! All the best!

For upcoming birthday I broke my fountain pen buying moratorium and got rid of surplus money for a NOS Bohème Vert Gold. I ordered a F nib but it is more likely M or B. However, it is a lovely pen that will get used quite frequently.

Hi @Lam1, where in Brasil might that be? It’s my wife’s home country and we will visit next month.
