Safari Mango with its first ever Mango ink cartridge.  Not happy with the colour of the ink.  Too pale, especially when I compare it to reviews I've seen online, such as https://mountainofink.com/blog/lamy-mango

And 2 days later it looks like this (even paler):

parker 51 aerometric teal blue with parker blue black - the latter seems to be a bit under rated, it is an inexpensive well behaved blue black, dries pretty quick too, great for on call weekends

I am using a broad nib CS Churchill.  It was the pen I picked up in haste to write a quick note about something I needed to do today as I was on my way to the shower this morning.  It's been in use all day, except for some note-taking during two zoom meetings.  I used a Broad nib Gravitas Entry that was with my notebook.

That's pretty useless (to put it lightly)!

Will work for pens...

Today it was the Cobalt Blue Noodler's FPC, flex nib, with Noodler's Blue Lobsters and Wales (the swag ink from this year's Commonwealth Pen Show) and the Aqua Blue (?) Parker 45 Arrow (purchased at the show) with vintage Quink Permanent Royal Blue.

Today it is the little brass pen from ebay that I don't really know the name of, with Private Reserve Burgundy, and it is also about to be my new Jinhao 100 in pinkallover!

That will be J. Herbin Rose Tendresse, which is the only pink I have, but I want to get a different color which matches the pen better.  Because I am strange like that...

M600 Red Tortoise with Blood Orange.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Just got an Esterbrook 9314-M (Relief Medium Stub) and put it in a black Esterbrook J that was a gift from another FPNer. Figuring out just the right twist to the left (it's a left oblique) to get it to write nicely. Is it a bad sign that I have 2 Esterbrook pens and 5 Esterbrook nibs?

Today it's mostly been the pink TWSBI 580-AL, B nib, freshly inked up with KWZI Chicago Green (the special show ink from this year's Chicago Pen Show).

It's a very saturated and wet dark green that leans just a titch towards the blue side of the spectrum (i.w., without going teal) which sheens red.  But because it's saturated I did have to play with the piston some mid-day, to keep the ink flowing through the nib and feed.

More pens than I have had inked at the same time for more than five years!  Recently, I wanted to send another forum member a comparison of several dusty, dark purple inks, and had I used a dip pen, several of the inks would have looked more similar than they are, so I inked up some extra pens.  Here is what I have had in use today:

  • Parker 51, burgundy, Barossa Grape
  • Parker Duofold Junior, black flat top, J Herbin Poussiere de Lune
  • Sailor 1911S, Wicked Witch of the West, Kobe Suma Purple
  • Lamy Safari, dark yellow (mid 1990s), Diamine Grape
  • Peyton Street Pen Works prototype, dark purple, Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa
  • Platinum 3776, Nice Lavande, TAG Kyoto Soft Snow of Ohara

And always inked is a Kuretake #8 brush pen, with TAG Kyoto Nurebairo.

I'm continuing my campaign to write out and clean all the pens (with a tendency to dry out) that I've madly Inked up through our cooler months. Today it's another Lamy - the very pretty Blue Green Al-Star filled with J Herbin Vert de Gris.

Will work for pens...

Today I used my Waterman’s 94, gray marbled with red bits, a fine flexible nib, and inked with diluted Diamine Oxford Blue. 5C0ED894-9628-4859-A413-640CDA886BD4.thumb.jpeg.58bbcc1ec29cffaf604f34006373b623.jpeg
