If non FP's qualify to be mentioned - since I am on the move and unable to take particularly good care of my pen I am using a ballpoint today.

Sheaffer's Balance 1990's Marbled dark red. Beautiful pen, nice and wide grip like the FP and well balanced. It's got circular grooves cut into the grip section which makes it nice and grippy.

Love the looks of your restored Wahl Eversharp desk pen, as well as your

handwriting!   Currently have a Eversharp Desk Pen, Sheaffer White

Dot Desk Pen, and (2) Esterbrook Desk sets and actually enjoy dipping

my pens in an ink well when writing.  Brings back memories of my

great grandfather and him using his desk pens in his podiatry office.

True story!!! When I read one of the Diana's Biography I learnt how she wrote and did notes with a Mont Blanc.

It seems she never inked the pen but used dip writing only. I had few pens which never inked ( One of them Montblanc too) So I learnt this from her book. when I tried I was amazed by that way to use a pen.

And I do it regularly with many pens. mostly with some vintage/ antique that is impossible to do restoring for some reasons. And mostly  any pens can be used as dip writers. All you need is a ink well and a little patience and. I am learning  about pointed pen and writing calligraphy and it is a fun for me. Thank you for the compliments  for my writing. 😀

So far today it's been:

Noodler's Konrad (Medieval Lapis, flex nib) -- Noodler's Akhmatova; and Parker 51 Aero, Teal Blue, F nib) -- Akkerman Delfts Blue.

Tonight I used my humble M200 green-marbled which I've inked with the new Golden Beryl, which compliments the pen nicely.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I'm saving up for a 146 Bordeaux Pakman. I hope there a still some left by the time I get there...if I ever get there!!

Thank you for your post. I enjoy your quiet, 'just getting on with it' approach.

Always appreciated.

Today it's my 1934(?) Swan, Mabie Todd, Snakeskin. There was some 'Van Dieman's Tiger Snake' ink (Venom) nearby but I changed to 'Montblanc, Royale Blue just before taking the pic. While it is amusing matching pen colours with ink shades I usually just want something 'traditional' for my 'vintage' pens.

vf ..dipped...and held under for some time!🥴

This pen looks like a sharper pen and I already recognise  the different writing quality of a vintage  here. Specially Swan pens.

They are beautiful and have lot of characters in every Mabie writing. I think this pen is having fine/broad soft nib. Lovely!!! colour too.

So far today it's been 3 pens:

1) Noodler's Charlie (flex? nib), with Noodler's Kung Te Cheng (slightly adulterated with a drop of Vanness White Lightning).  I can't tell if it has improved the flow, but it has not done anything about the nib creep/clogging issues I have as much as just dipping the nib in distilled water on occasion -- I can write about a page and a half in an A5 size journal, with two lines per printed line.

2) Sailor 1911S Loch Ness Monster (MF nib) -- dilute Sailor US Series Pennsylvania.

3) Noodler's Konrad Medieval Lapis (flex nib) -- Noodler's Akhmatova.
