If I thought I can get away with it, I would have bought this shiny silver yard-o-led Victorian Pen. It is a great looking pen.

However, I can see this step  will set off  a chain of events, that will  end up with the wife kicking me out of the house and such.

Quite a predicament,   in fact.   :lticaptd:

At least you would have a really nice pen.  😋

lovely pen. I have the 1911 version, but I love the color, and despite being my only Sailor, it is one of my favorite pens.

Thanks, @N1003U, I`d say Sailor nibs are just a little bit more "Japanese" than Pilot and Platinum)

Just inked up a couple more pens, to go with the four I already have inked:

  • Parker 21 - Pelikan 4001 Dark Green
  • Parker 51 Special - Montblanc Modena Red

Should be nice for some highlight colors in my bullet journal and prose journal. :D

Apparently I will have a bit of a wait for my latest impulse acquisition.  I received this in an email from Conway Stewart yesterday:

'All our pens are made to order, and currently the estimated dispatch is up to 28 working days from your order date. However, if there is a specific date (ie a birthday ) then please let me know and I will do everything possible to get it to you by that date.

Peter at our workshop will email you with details of the shipment as soon as it has been dispatched, including tracking details.'

This also answers any questions one might have (see British made pens thread) about where the current C&S pens are made.

OOPS! Wrong thread.  Sorry

Parker 45 Forest Green which arrived today from Spain.

A welcome replacement for the one I received from my parents when I reached high school in 196x and subsequently destroyed, except for the cap, when I reached university.  This one brings back good memories and I have put the original cap in as it was engraved - a big tradition back then.

Its inked and in use with an ancient Quink permanent blue/black cartridge.  Now I need to find an ink converter, that is similar to the original, with an intact ink sack.  The "new" piston converters are OK, but my nostalgic trip requires the old style.

Lovely pen and story!

I have a P45 desk pen that's one of my daily use pens right now. It has an old-style "aerometric" squeeze converter that would probably be just what you need. It works great, but I was already considering swapping it out for a modern piston converter so I can use Japanese inks without fear for the latex sac. It might take a long time to get to you, but I would be happy to send you my converter at no charge. Send me a private message if you decide you want it.

I've changed to a green Worcester celluloid pen with a broad nib loaded with Diamine Tropical Green for today.  It was the pen closest in reach this morning.

Conklin Duragraph! I hated this pen, it's nib was flat footed and scratchy. Not to mention it wrote louder than any other pen! Now, I've tuned it and it's super smooth and lovely. I put Diamine Macassar, a nice deep brown in there. Lovely pen, go get yourself one for less than 50 bucks!

I'm using my most recent acquisition, a Jinhao X750 in matte black.

I'm thoroughly impressed with this pen...and I feel almost embarrassed to say so. I guess I just thought it would be glaringly bad for 12 bucks. I expected the nib to be awful and instead it was fantastic, if a little dry for my tastes.

This pen was bought for the sole purpose of taking the black anodized Goulet medium nib I have just laying around. I was reluctant to pull the Jinhao nib out to be honest, but did it anyway. The Goulet nib is wetter and more to my preferences and now the pen is really excellent. I'm on my second fill of the converter in 24 hours!

I forgot to add, it was purchased “used”, but it was so clean and in good condition, that it could have been NOS.

Those three went to work with me today:

1. Pelikan M200 blue marbled with Pelikan Königsblau

2. Pelikan M600 Athens with Diamine Sapphire Blue

3. Reform piston filler with Sailor Oku-Yama

Ranga Bamboo -- originally matte black ebonite, but now I've done some inlay work and given it more of a satin finish.
