Inked up the new Lamy Vista and Jinhao X750 today with some Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher. Liked the Lamy more than I thought I would but it wrote too broadly with the cheap paper at work even with the fine nib. And the X750 with medium nib was even worse. Ordered up extra fine nibs for both to try out.

Filled up a Parker Sonnet f nib today for an expected long session of writing over the weekend (long session for me might be four or five pages of notes).

Cleaned and put away a Parker 75 with the most beautiful nib. It had had its turn.

Today I’m using my Lamy 2000 medium which is inked with Akkerman SBRE Brown and my Graf Von Faber Castell Tamitio 1.4 stub which is inked with Akkerman Delfts Blauw. Both inks are new acquisitions. I think the Akkerman bottles are so characterful and I’ve wanted to try the SBRE Brown ink for a long time. I wasn’t disappointed!

How funny - I had both of those arrive (amongst other things) this week too :)

Can I just say how much I like this picture - the garden in the background is so incredibly English :)

Thanks @mizgeorge I’m fortunate to live in the world’s first garden city, so there’s lots of lovely spring greenness everywhere at the moment! I’ve really enjoyed trying out my new Akkerman inks; Delft Blauw is a very beautiful, subtle shading ink too, best enjoyed with broad and wet nibs though I think! I hope that you enjoy your new acquisitions as much as I have 🙂

I'm using an Apple Pencil and it's taking a bit of getting used to! Writing on a slippy surface with zero feedback. Quite hard work but fun - I could have typed this in a traction of the time. I wonder. if it will do anything for my handwriting...
