Sheaffer Sagaris with a Skrip cartridge, Parker 21 Super with PR ultra black, and always personal favorite, Parker 51 with Sheafer blue/black. . Tomorrow I might ink up my recently acquired jade green Sheaffer flat top with some PR American Blue.

Thought I’d take a family group shot of my three favourite and most used fountain pens. The Visconti Homo Sapiens demonstrator model writes like a dream, so smooth, so comfy to hold, lighter than the lava versions. The matching purple ink really suits it. Also the pen has an utterly gigantic ink capacity. The Lamy 2000 is my workhorse pen for so much, including sheet music work. Always works reliably and writes well. And my TWSBI is a fun variant to use, really well suited to the Red Dragon ink. I do like seeing ink sloshing around inside it. My initial TWSBI fine nib was a bit scratchy so I replaced the nib with a medium nib I love. Big ink capacity, though quite a lot less than the Visconti holds per fill. As someone with a MS-like illness and hand control problems piston fillers are a dream. And I find writing with a fountain pen easier and more effortless than any other type of pen. I use my fountain pens a lot, for creative and academic writing, and for task management etc. The TWSBI will be in extended use tonight.

M400 blue with Stipula Dark Blue which I had  tried to use last night only to discover it was dry. Funny thing is, I'd topped off the Brown Tortoise in the same case case last night before work and had taken a gander ot the blue and thought it looked full. Obviously not.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

My three "dailies": Nakaya Piccolo Cigar, kuro tamenuri, EF (Noodler's Black); Pilot 823, PO (Noodler's Black); and Moonman C2, Pilot PO nib (KWZi Niebieski #3 galusowy (iron-gall Blue #3)).

On the verge of using the KWZi ink in a Moonman Wancai Mini (EF) and filling the Moonman C2 with Noodler's Black. For kicks.

Haha.

Lovely pens, I'm attracted by the lack of steps from barrel to section.
How do you find their nibs?

It's interesting what juxtapositions you now get on your screen thanks to advertisements......  Beauties and the beast, perhaps....

Brand new into the fountain pen world. Grabbed a Pilot Metropolitan a week ago, and just ordered a Lamy Safari and TWSBI Eco to play with as well.

I've been playing with my new (very old) lady. We have some work to do on our relationship, I suspect :)

Hi!

Their nibs exhibit no line variation. I have tested 5 Tibaldi nibs, and I find their nibs hard as a nail. Most of the people use this term in a negative way, but that's not my case. No matter how hard you press a nib, it stays the same width. The tipping material is well rounded and they write with no skipping, glide smoothly and with no feedback.

Considering I adore wet an juicy nibs, I find them in the dry side.

Arrived in the mail today.  Inked up the mustard yellow one for a test drive.

This is the Jinhao 777.  I think we all know what pen this reminds us of.

F. nib--I don't normally prefer F nibs, though this writes more like a F/M.

The nib is stiff, so there is no line variation.  There is some feedback.  Also

noticed that you do have to hold that nib correctly, for I experienced some

paper catching when I tilted the nib to the left a bit. When held upright,

it was not an unpleasant writing experience.  Have already ordered a

true med. nib to replace it.   It has the matted look of the Safari, though

not the same quality of material.  Also noticed two small snags on the

clip.  Though painted over, I will be applying a dollop of glue to smooth

over the area so that nothing catches.  This issue was not found on

the purple version of the pen.  Overall, for the price it will make a good

knock around pen, particularly for a young student.  When they lose it,

and they will, it will only be a $5 loss.😃  Both pens were inked when weighed.

goodness!... I'm so glad I use no-script...

Yeah, I think the script-blocker and ad blocker software are staying up and running....  :o  Talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

For me, today it's been the green Snorkel, F (I think) nib, with vintage Sanford Pen-It Brown (a very nice color -- wish I could track down more of this ink); and the pink Parker Vector, F nib, with KWZI IG Blue #3.
