Sailor Shikiori Shimoyo - Micro review

I had the opportunity to try a sample of this thanks to A Smug Dill

I’m not a Sailor convert yet.
While I found the colour intriguing and pleasing to use, it looks nicer scanned that in real life, to my eyes.

It was a bit of pain to clean the pen. Probably it would have been much easier if I’d used a modern pen smile.png

• Paper used Midori
• Shading: Yes with a flex nib
• Ghosting: A bit - Though with a wet oblique nib, you cannot expect less....

• Nib Dry-out: Nope.
• Start-up: No problem.
• Saturation: No

Whimsical written samples and whacky drawings....

I find it slightly dull.... But then again, I'm not a fan of greys...

Also note the sample is written with a wet vintage oblique nib That's a lot of ink on the paper.

Before I knew my sample was gone :)

So, if you're used to fine/ EF it might be even lighter.

For that I used a pencil ;)

Thanks, Yazeh.  Having fun with wizards and witches, I see... :D  The ink looks interesting, in that my eyes can't figure out what the color is (or isn't). :)

Thanks for the review.

Looks good to me, not a fan of grey here either but no harm in appreciating a nice color (at least in scans from what I read). I too feel any lighter will be beyond my territory but who knows maybe I will like them in real life.

Honestly my only issue has been the price for this entire line of sailor inks.....$10 (its Rs940 here so approx $12.8) for 20 ml is kinda over my head considering I will blow bottle within 2 months assume there is no wastage.

It's a difficult colour to fathom. To my eyes it looks lovelier scanned than in person. But I'm sure some of the member, who like complex, understated inks, would love this one..

I was lucky... I got a free sample... :)

I would say this is more of a blue black.

My pen is very wet so, I used the sample quite fast :)

I would get a sample first....
