It looks like there are a few more in the queue, ready for repair. Are those Simpkins tins? I keep my pens temporarily stored in them when they are disassembled. Fruity mints are the best!!

How does the Stewart fill? Does it have a push bar?

I'll try and get photo's up tomorrow, horrible job in hand just now, taking Waterman Patrician cap clips, off two pen caps, to put the good clip, that does not have a personal engraving imprint, onto the mint condition pen cap that has an imprint on the cap clip.

Managed today to get intact, the sacrificial clip for the good pen. The donor cap was too good not to save the cap, to be continued ?.

That looks an interesting project, do you know of Bryce Ferguson ? his workshop is very close to me and a wonderful experience to view his works on silver band instruments.

Simpkins tins - yes, well spotted! Mine have shellac flakes in them, used as the adhesive for woodwind pads to pad cups. The Stewart 36 is a lever fill.

Some of the other pens are finished. Examples top to bottom

Sheaffer Imperial IV

Conway Stewart 55

Conway Stewart 15

Conway Stewart Dinkie 550

Ha! It would take a couple of bottles at least, but you know, along with VacNut's comment about a music nib, there may be some potential for an oboe.....

I don't know of Bryce. I am a hobby woodwind repairer and collector, and my pen bench is really my music bench!

Holy cow.  That burgundy one is beautiful!

I was overjoyed when I found my first Burgundy OS. There is little comparison between this pen and the brown versions. Although a Black Max or OS with almost no ambering is an incredible sight.

Finalmente terminei o Burgundy OS e o Emerald OS. Um pouco de âmbar na esmeralda, mas a mobília está realmente limpa.

One of the things he (Bryce) has in his work shop is an ultrasonic that is the size of a cabinet freezer of the size and type people kept in their garage in years gone by. Very similar display of instruments and has just recently opened Edinburgh Music Centre in Juniper Green, Edinburgh. Also a wonderful Myers lathe with all attachments, just a little bit jealous 🙂

These are the two Patrician caps, the good cap with the clamp had a clip with an engraved imprint on it. The sacrificial cap upper in the scan, was the very devil to get the inner cap out of and as can be seen, even though the top unscrewed, the clip off of. I'll see if the customer wants this clip put on this cap, clip has had the imprint gold filled and then gold plated, to maintain gold colouring. The better quality pen, has still to have the clip "fixed" and a mandrel was made  to re-install safely the inner cap. Waterman did have some less than pleasant cap clip designs to work on .

Very interesting work. I don't dare put my hands on a Waterman to fix it, I need to study hard to get to that point.

This week will be dedicated to Parker 21 ...

During the weekend they were soaked and washed.

Now repairs and adjustments begin ...
