What Sheaffer is this?

Hi guys n gals, i picked up a couple of Sheaffers but I’m having trouble identifying which model they are. This one has the fingernail nib of a Lady Sheaffer but is gold plated steel(?), engraved simply ‘Sheaffer’, and the barrel is way too plain, simple black plastic. Also, is the clip too long for a Lady? The cap fits beautifully to the barrel, very smooth transition. The pen is also a cartridge filler, i added the converter as it came with a nice crusty cartridge 😆

I don’t normally venture to Sheaffer, but as this one is such a nice writer i might have to dip in a bit more 🤭

Any and all help is gratefully received.

Thank you all in advance.

Nice pen! If you are researching online, be sure to spell the name Sheaffer in order to increase your search results.

The pen was made in several finishes but it was called "LADY" Sheaffer line..maybe your is 900's series..etc. It is cartridge and converter filler. Regards.

Cool, thanks, will get to searching.

I take it there are no comprehensive catalogues out there?

These Sheaffer models can be difficult to identify because they came with different nibs (two-way, short conical or fingernail) and because design features of different models overlapped.

I think that your pen might be a Sheaffer Stylist 214G. A similar pen in blue and with model name chalk-marked on barrel is shown in this closed auction:

The cap with longer clip suggests to me that this pen is late 1960s early 1970s. In the early 1970s, the clip on Sheaffer caps became shorter.

I have no idea how you found that, but thank you so much. It is virtually identical! You are a star! 😘
