Hi Echowind!Nice Post... Which is your favourite pen among all these??.

Also the Sheaffer NNS is not Indian (or you mean to say you bought it in India?)

The Shaeffer and Parker are not indian. I included them in the pics since they were recent purchases.

Do you find the bands on the Heritage to be better made than the ones on the Desire?

Well in honesty, I would prefer if there were no bands or if they were made of stainless steel.

The colour on the bands deteriorates quite fast in these weather conditions.

Ah, that is what I wanted to know. I hoped the bands of the Heritage were made of steel.

I love Kanwrite's nibs even though the line widths are highly inconsistent.

What about the band on the Gama? Is that any better?

I currently prefer the somewhat large and light pens. For some reason the Gama Supreme Green and the Gama Jumbo Round Top are very light even when they're inked up and an absolute pleasure to write with.

I would have included the ASA Azaadi in the pic, but I had sent it back to Mr. Subraniam for some nib tuning and haven't received it back yet.

I think the Gama uses similar chrome bands, but I cannot give a definite answer for the discoloration since I've used the pen for a few months. So far I've not noticed any fading in the chrome colour bands yet, but the gold colour faded off very quicky.

Does it also have the same metal-coated bands? Azaadi is a costlier pen so I hope it has better trim.

Did you buy it during the group-buy or was yours purchased individually? Which acrylic did you pick?

I don't remember exactly what the bands were, I was focused more on the finishing aesthetics.

I selected the Red Cracker colour during the group buy. For some reason, the pen I received had a scratchy nib, so I sent it back to him for tuning in Oct end and it's still with him.

I order ASA and Ranga pens without bands. In general bands serve no functional purpose on modern pens. The quality of bands on Indian pens is, in my opinion, often less than optimal, as are the clips. Love the Ebonite pens tho'.

Add lightness and simplicate.

I don't mind bands, but I want them to be positioned well and be made of either Stainless Steel , gold or sterling silver plated with a logo Embossed on it.

I know it drives up the cost considerably, but it gives a beautiful elegant look to the pen.
