Pelikan 337 Giant Ballpoint Refill (Canadian retailers)?

Does anyone know of any Canadian retailers who carry the Pelikan 337 refills? I'm in the Toronto area, but any Canada-based retailer with an online shop is perfect.

Have you tried Laywines?  They carry Pelikans... I own an RB, and I always manage to find the refills in-stock in the store.

 

Their website may not include them, (their website doesn't include their entire stock), but I believe they are answering the phone during the lockdown.

 

Failing that, Phidon in Cambridge.  They also carry Pelikan, but I don't know if they stock the bp refills.

Laywine's was the first place I checked. They have the RB refills available online, but not the BP. I'll check with them directly, though.

I realize this does not answer the original question, but standard Parker (and Parker-style) refills also work in all Pelikan ballpoints, if finding Pelikan brandied refills turns out to be too much of a challenge, or if there is a serious emergency,

When I get my Pelikan refills I will do a proper study of them and the Parker refills. I like and use the Parker refills, but want to branch out with ballpoint since I still have to rely on them for work and my Filofax.

 

One little-big thing I'm searching for is a clean ballpoint writing experience. You know how when you write with ballpoint and eventually a glob of ink will collect around the point? If you don't wipe it off, the glob will sort of fall onto the page, at which point it will smear. So even with ballpoint, one needs to have scrap paper handy. The glob is probably caused by a combination of normal ink shedding as well as quality of paper, but I do want to find a ballpoint ink that doesn't glob, or globs less. I read good things about the Pelikan 337 refill so I'll give it a whirl and report back.

Very nice, and lots of colour options. Does the gel ink have any tendencies to glob?

I like "clean-writing" ballpoints, too: good start-up, even flow and drag when writing, of course no leakage ("globbing"). Ballpoint performance is a function of both construction quality (e.g., swaging of the ball into the tip with the correct clearance, good mechanical seals everywhere) and the quality of the underlying components (ink formulation, ball size and surface quality/consistency, quality of the refill body (all of which help with construction quality and operational smoothness).

 

I look forward to hearing a report back on experiences with various refills.

Pelikan 337M black doesn't glob, and is the smoothest ballpoint pen that I have used, even my Montblanc ballpoint with Mistery Black medium produce some globing.

I‘ll second the quality experience with Pelikan-branded refills. They are usually really good. But in my experience, when you need a refill urgently, is exactly the time you can’t find a Pelikan 337 refill to save your life. That is how I discovered the alternatives...😛

It does not... and it sits for quite a while between writing because it is the pen i used when i was traveling for work.  Come to think of it.. I haven't used it since Feb... better get that guy out for a spin!
