Dupont Montparnasse nib and feed design

I am a new owner of a Dupont Montparnasse. The feed seems to be of a unique design. There are none of the typical slots that function as ink reservoirs to deal with pressure changes, nor does the nib have the usual breather hole through which you can view the feed slot.  Do any of the Dupont experts out there clarify how this manages to deal with pressure changes, ie, is there an alternative to the slots?

The so called breather hole never had anything to do with breathing or airflow; it was a way of reducing the chance and incidence of the slit continuing to crack.

The absence of slots in the feed is interesting; there must be an ink buffer or reservoir space somewhere hidden
