I made my own: called it Noodler's Murk.  Just kept adding a bit of this and that.  Filled an empty Diamine bottle with it, added my own label, and it's got a permanent home in a Reform calligraphy pen.

 You & @Tas, makin' your own perfect inks! :)

Would love to see how this works in a flex pen...
If the darkness lightens up/shades well, it might make it to the contender list.
Currently my favorite green is a mix of inks that I have to make every fill...

As luck would have it, two pens ran dry over the weekend, so I filled my Pilot Falcon, SEF with Diamine Classic Green and did some flexy writing.  This pen is quite wet, and the ink seems quite wet in said pen, so the color is very dark.  These photos don't really show the color that well (OK, not great), but you get the relative color accurately - not all that much variation in a single stroke.  (The darkest areas have a tiny bit of red sheen.)  I'll try a longer flexy writing session after lunch and see how the ink keeps up.

Wow, that looks almost black :)

It's not quite that dark in person - even my eyes can see the green.  But it is very dark, and the camera has a hard time picking up the color.

I can see the green in the close up only...But in the other photos, a dark swampy, murky green. I guess it's a question of contrast. If you add another line in a different colour then our eyes can see too :)

OK, I just wrote what seemed like a lot to me, especially doing continuous flexing.  This ink did not railroad once - not once, and I was going constantly and as fast as I could.  The ink did get paler in places, but that's all.  Here's another photo, showing the paler color, and with Colorverse Extra Dimension (and some wood) in the photo:

The "not black" look is what I am used to from this ink. Delivery system for me is a wet broad gold Lamy. Doesn't read "green" to me but something like "sea-glass"?

Too dark for the most common sea glass.

I have to admit, I love your handwriting. It has a vintage feel to it. Real nice :)

Thanks :) That colorverse has a nice sheen. And the green is more visible...

That's a great Colorverse ink.  I'm kinda surprised none of my Colorverse inks have been voted to the top.  Whatever... :)

Awesome!! Thank you. I think that this will not only be a great straight ink, it will be a great mixer too!
I can see that blending with EOC quite nicely...

You're very welcome!  That's not a mix I would have thought of, but it should be interesting.  If you do get Classic Green, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Once upon a time I would have called this murky, but now it's just a dark-ish foresty green with maybe a hint of murk.

I had been avoiding this ink for much of the same reason.  But now, seeing the close up image, I'm wondering if it that's what my bottle of vintage Sanford Pen-It Green was originally supposed to look like on the page.

Thanks for the review.  And, well, not.... :wallbash:

ETA: Just saw the exemplar with the Falcon SEF nib.  You know, I just recently got a Falcon in one of the new colors with an SF nib, and that color green would look quite nice out of the "purple" (really more of a magenta, IME) pen....

Boy, am I good at talking myself into things.... :headsmack:

Reminds me of a few years ago when I was showing my husband the photo Amberlea Davis's ink cabinet and I told him that was NOTHING compared to what Sam Capote had for an ink stash -- and his reponse was, "This is NOT a competition!"

  • 1 year later...

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 270µm.
