Color of the back side of LAMY z57 nib

Hi, I just bought a z57 nib on eBay for my LAMY CP1 pen. The nib is quite excellent, it writes much better than the steel nib, however it makes me wonder wether I didn't purchase a fake one. The back side of the nib is black (which confused me because I thought it would be in gold). Is there anyone that has got the original z57 nib and knows how it is? Otherwise, the front looks very real to me.

Lamy Z55, Z56 and Z57 14K gold nibs do not have yellow-gold coloured undersides.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Since you said it wrote better, it was humorus that you thought it was fake. Perhaps a placebo effect.

Just taking a guess at how it's made, they'd start with a gold nib and plate it black after masking off the areas to remain gold.  There would be no reason to mask off the underside, so it's black.
