MoriartyR, I bought what I think is the same pen as your Taccia today but it is described as "Taccia Hyakko-Hisho LE Hakudou (instead of Kohaku.) I'm a fan of Taccia urushi. I agree with you, the quality is outstanding. Photos do not capture the depth of the finishes. When I tried to figure out what model my new pen was, I stumbled onto your post and noticed the difference in names. Then I saw that there are more different "limited editions" than I realized, often with minor variations on themes. So even though mine looks like yours, the color combination might be a little different and so the name might have changed. Do you know if the pen in the photo below is "Hakudou" or "Kohaku" and what any difference might be?

I've also posted a photos of my other Taccias.

Beautiful pens, Frank. The model you have looks the same as mine and I think it is as you say, there are multiple editions of the same pen with different names. I know of at least one other iteration of this pen. My photos came out more greenish but the pen is yellow like yours.

I especially like the green one you have at the bottom. I saw it on a retailer’s website and have been eyeing it for ages.

Excellent review and great feedback on Taccia pens.

The question I have is where to find them???  I’ve managed to locate a few retailers who have a limited offering (e.g., one or two models).

Suggestions on retailers would be appreciated.

I got mine from Sakura Pens in Belgium. Stilo e Stile in Italy carries them. And Iguana Sell in Spain. The Nibsmith in America also has them - at least he used to have a wide selection. No doubt there are others if you do a search.

I got my first Taccia at the San Francisco International Pen Show in 2018 and followed up with another at the show in 2019. The green one was on eBay from TY Lee Pen Shop in Taiwan. Most recent addition came from Stilo e Stile in Rome via eBay.

MoriartyR, thanks again for your review and information above. Looks like our pens are the same. I found a photo of the Hakudou pen--it is a grey metallic finish instead of yellow. So I think the listing on eBay had the incorrect name.

The black actually is not a Taccia. It is a twico with ishimei urushi finish, but I believe it is based on Taccia reserve. the red swirl is the 2020 reserve sky edition — crimson nebula; The Taccia pens always remind me of the stipula baracca model.

Well, I managed to find one of the Taccia Crimson Nebula pens like yours, and, like so many pens, pictures don’t do it justice. In particular, the gold dust like material has remarkable depth I didn’t appreciate in the pics.  Thanks again for showing us your pens.

Thank you and enjoy. I believe you probably got the last one from the seller. I just ordered another gold-red Taccia.

That’s really nice. And I see the pic is from Stilo e Stile. They are a great vendor in my experience.
