I bought a Namiki 50 in Kuro. It has been with a nibmeister since day one. I am having it ground from a B to a F. Pictures will be coming. Thank you Richard for all your help.

Any particular reason for not buying FM and having that ground to F?
Namiki/Pilot nib structure does vary from FM to B so not sure if this was a wise decision or not.

I received a great deal on the B...I did not know the feed structure was different. I just got it back and was conservative on the grind. I had it ground to a M. Writes better than the B. I might take it down to a 0.25mm which is what I really like. I have been debating that this past week. Worst case I buy a new one here in the US.  I sold my whole Montblanc pen collection and I am down to a 3 pen collection....

Namiki Emperor....Nayaya 17MM Portable... MB 149

I do love the Emperor...it has perfect weight distribution for me...however my favorite will always be my 149.

There are far more better pictures around, on the Namiki website and here, by Jandrese:

But I got mine delivered today and am so proud...

I’m just dipping my toes into Namiki, I have collected mostly mid-late 20th century American and German pens and only recently started on Japanese pens. I collect penguin paraphernalia so naturally I needed the Nippon Art Origami Penguin. It was made in April of 2020 and found it’s way to me via the FPD sale at Cult Pens this month. I hope this the first of many.

Top 5 of 26 (in no particular order) currently inked pens:

Pelikan M300 CIF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Beryl

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Pelikan M605 F, Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

My pictures do not justice at all to the beautiful pieces of art. The black Emperor urushi has been inked, the other two have not. I enjoy those pens by just looking at them.

The Emperor Goldfish is my grail pen, way beyond my financial reach. I have seen it at shows, and photos do not do it justice.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Check out

They also handle MTO penboxes exactly to you liking/requirements.

Thank you indeed. Beautiful wood based products. The world is truely a global village where we can buy from everywhere even in small quantities. I have often used Galen Leather in Turkey, they have wonderful (mostly leather based) storrage items and a really touching company history.

And here are my two Namiki pens. I was surpriced of the size of the emperor, it only fits un-capped in my Nakaya pen stan. And I thought my Nakaya pens were large! But the urushi is a beauty.

Wouw amazing pens:-)

May I ask you about the 4 pen box? Is it possible to buy these?

MoBe

I got this through Sakura Fountainpen Gallery in Belgium. It has eight slots, four in each drawer. In one drawer, it takes two Emperors, and two Nakaya Long Cigar pens, from personal observation. It is model SC104.

From there you get the name of the company and can then go browse other products :  https://toyocraft.com/en/. There are additional pen cases there which also look quite nice.

I was extremely lucky this weekend... bought a big collection and one of the pens was the incredible Namiki Emperor "holy clouds" - only around 3 pieces were ever made.

Wow, congrats! How did the collection look like? More Japanese pens?

Amazing. 25 Pens, 22 Emperors, 1 Yukari 2 Yukari Royale. Most of them are from this Period (80-00s).

I really love this hobby. Although I have some pens now double or tripple 😂

Please do so - greatly appreciated.

And perhaps you list your doubles and trebles? In case you consider off-loading them?
