This is one I could see myself using. I'm very fond of a lot of the blue-blacks I've tried.

Funny:

I got myself a bottle of Cross blue-black ink a year or so ago because they claim it to be document proof according to ISO standards.

The colour of my Cross Blue-black is rather dark violet than blue-black, but it writes well and it does not dry out in the pen,

even when I don't use it frequently. I like it because of these qualities, not so much because of the colour.

 

Your sample looks really blue-black and not at all violett.

Until some time ago Cross branded their name to Pelikan 4001 inks. They even had the Pelikan bottles.

But for quite some time they have a new manufacturer.

The bottles are a unique (square) shape and it says "made in China" on the bottles. (Pelikan 4001 ink is made in Germany).

The price is significantly higher than before, they now want to be more high-end than budget.

I wonder whether you got one of the last examples of the old ink?

Then you probably have the old (discontinued) ink and not the new one.

I did not know they also had the blue-black;

whenever I saw them in a shop it was only either blue or black, never blue-black.
