I do hope it works out. Mine also arrived yesterday but I am waiting until my birthday to open the pen.

Where do you get the strength? I'm using the pen I had made for my 40th birthday now and I don't turn 40 for another two weeks.

I'm not saying it is easy. But I am lucky enough to have a bunch of fun to use pens and they are already inked.

That said, I've picked up the package to open it a few times already before putting it back down. :)

I get where you are going with this comment and would not disagree with you for regular production nibs from MB.

My surprise came from the fact the seller had tested each nib personally. Not just the quick listening test MB does with their nib as quality control.

Given they stamped the store name on the nibs I know the seller put way more effort into these nibs than just a marketing partnership (cough Kingsman 149s cough cough) so I was surprised much more than if some told me they bough a stock 149 and it had nib issues.

I'm not saying it is impossible there is an issue, as the best of intentions does not guarantee perfection, just that the first reported feedback outside Tom was an issue I would not expect.

I do hope it works out. Mine also arrived yesterday but I am waiting until my birthday to open the pen.

Buying a new expensive fountain pen is always something like an adrenaline activity. You never know what you get. I hope that the yours is in the best shapes.

The ink you are using is absolutely stunning. I love that green. Which ink is it? I must look for a bottle.

This is Graf von Faber Castell Olive Green. I like it very much, with a lot of shading, and it almost perfectly matches the nuances of my Montegrappa Extra 1930 Black Bamboo.

...thank you for the wonderful tip. I was even able to source a bottle of it from a local store here in Winnipeg.

~ Heh, Heh, Heh, my friend, zaddick!

Gotta love those superb portraits of The Expressive above.

Creative, unexpected, revealing, and fun!

Not unlike The Expressive itself.

Enjoy!
