Parker 21 Set/1967 Event/chinese Embassy ?

Fountain pens are not interesting.....until they are(which is almost always).

Anyway, i have a mistery on my hands and it`s up to you to help me get to the bottom of it- Scooby Doo, where are you??

I bought a unused parker 21 set. The small cardboard box contains a parker 21 and a parker 21 super in plastic bags. Both pens are marked with a very fine writing in....mandarin, i think. They must be greetings of some kind. The parker 21 is (factory?) marked on the body and on the filler with "Parker-made in USA-1967".

Now, the guy who sold me these said something about an estate sale in Canada/Chinese embassy party/gift. In my mind, i am wondering three things:

1. If these were gifts from/to chinese nationals, why aren`t the pens in China right now?

2. If for some reason the person receiving the pens was in fact living in N. America, how did the pens end up in Eastern Europe, where i live? The set was not sold on ebay, i bought them locally.

3. Finally, why is the body marked with Parker and the year 1967? What happened in 1967 that needed this sort of commemoration?

I know there are users on FPN who can enlighten us on the meaning of the words on these pens. Please assist, i am just so curious! I am humbled both by the excelent american made parker pens and the exotic writing that accompanies them. I am thinking about applying some nail polish to prevent the writing from fading any further.

Google tells me:

On red pen: 玄 母親 節

Hyun Mother's Day

Thank you Hari. So i guess we can drop the whole embassy gift story.

More like unwanted gifts from within the chinese community. I`m still amazed at the technique used to write this, the symbols are extremely tiny, they must have used the world`s smallest brush and some sort of paint.

I wonder if the person who wrote this also had the other pen inscribed with the year/parker, because that looks like factory issued to me.
