I’ve never been as pleased with vintage pens as I have with these 3 21’s I have inked. While they don’t feel a sturdy as the 51, they are amazing writers at every turn.

What can I say, I’m a fan??

I remember when a friend gifted me her 21. After cleaning it up and adding ink I became curious why there is not more noise about these great Parker models.

Today and recently:

- Parker Rialto Dark Green Matte, GT, Fine nib with Parker Quink (used the same model but in Black Lacquer for previous 15 (?) years) – for day-to-day use, etc;

- Parker Duofold Centennial Black Lacquer GT, Fine nib – for signing documents and occasionally making notes at some meetings;

- Parker Classic Flighter BP (with black genuine Parker refill) in my pocket or bag when travelling to countryside.

Want to start using 51 one day, but I have got only one NOS 51 so far, so still hesitating to have it inked… My feelings are almost the same when you are about to open another bottle from your vintage Single Malt collection… :)

I recently purchased a gorgeous restored 1946 Blue Azure Vacumatic, and I have been waiting on some vintage Quink blue-black to arrive. But that ink is now nearly two weeks in "arriving late" hell, and I am tired of waiting. I'll use it in something else, if it ever arrives.

I loaded this one up with 4001 Royal Blue, and it's a delight. It writes a medium line, though not crazy wet with this ink. The section is a little small, which may take a little getting-used-to, but the pen is long enough to be able to write comfortably while unposted.

Black "51" Aerometric, pen is dated first quarter 1955. Got it at my local antiques store as part of a deal to sell some stuff I no longer had any need for.

Deep cleaning (complete disassembly) and a minor nib tweak later and it is one of the best writing "51"s I own. The fill of Waterman Mysterious blue is WEEKS old, with only minimal writing and there has been no drying out, no hard starting, nothing, it's a great pen!

If anyone has any ideas on how to clean the felt and silk inside the case, please let me know, the case is in rough shape and I'd like to try and clean it up

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

I have tried cleaning the Parker boxes in the past and only made things worse, I hope that someone has some good ideas. I usually try to find a perfect box elsewhere and then sell the stained box as part of a job lot.

@Beechwood -- I'm even worse.  I accidentally STEPPED on the cardboard box that the mystery 51 Vac I found in my living room a while back that I have NO recollection of getting....

Fortunately the pen (India Black with a "T6" date code and someone's initials on it) was NOT in the box at the time....

Parker 61 burgundy colour and blue Lamy ink. Too fine nib and waiting to find a broad one.
