Broken Jinhao Feed

Recommended Posts

So I have this Jinhao X750 with a broken feed. It is broken right at the feed post, where the converter attaches.

I want to replace it but I don't know how to get the post out.

I know this may seem silly for a $10 pen, but I really like it and want to fix it with a new feed (probably an FPR feed).

Any tips? Thank you!

Remove converter. Hold section firmly. With other hand, place thumb on top of nib, wrap forefinger around feed. Pull feed and nib out of housing.

Add lightness and simplicate.

I am able to do that, but the converter post remains stuck in that hole. That's what I am trying to remove. :/

You'll need to fashion your own tool; push it out the direction it went in. Guitar strings, straightened out dental picks, any small diameter wire, narrow needles, etc.

The FPR #6 feeds are round, the Jinhao feed has a flat bottom. Even if you sand it down, you'll run into the same problem that made George Waterman rich - getting air back into the reservoir. If the section has the feed post extension, better to use a feed with a feed post.

Identical Jinhao feeds can be had on Aliexpress or etsy.

Best of luck.

Even the plastic feeds?

I guess the other alternative is simply to buy another really affordable pen, but I feel guilty doing that.

Are these really $10 now? I bought a bunch for about $2.50 shipped each 3 years ago.
