Barutti: Though I am not a Pelikan collector, I have always been very fond of their vintage models 100/100N. This is impressive! Congratulations!

Every time I see something showing the beautiful range of colors on the 100 and 100N models I start drooling. Then I get the sticker shock.

My family is not nearly as extensive as some peoples' are. And it's even worse at the moment, because the M600 Violet and White has gone walkabout.... :crybaby: I just had it yesterday. I remember looking at it, and then decided to not use it. And then last night my husband knocked over the canister of inked up pens and when I looked this morning I found every pen that is currently inked up. EXCEPT that one.... :wallbash: And I'd gotten a deal on it from a seller on eBay, last winter. Box looked as if it had fallen off the back of a truck (nudge nudge, wink wink) but the pen itself was okay.

Many thanks for kind words, como.

Indeed, in my opinion series 100/100N are iconic for Pelikan and may be for all f.p. market. And after almost 3 years collecting these pens, I still founding the new variations.. for example, last week I found Pelikan 100N, ebonite with long cap&short cap top. It was real surprise for me, as short cap top are documented for 101N and "Emege" branded pelikan's.

I hope that you will find your bird soon, Ruth. I know that feeling. :)

I came close to getting one but in the end I could not decide if the celluloid shrank too much that the piston knob was not flush any more with the barrel. What you mentioned is really a good example of the fun of collecting such models. When you work hard and get lucky, it’s even more special. Happy Hunting!

Been out of the hobby for quite a while, but back now, what a great forum!

Pretty random modern Pelikan collection, mostly older models, I'm sure you recognize what's what. These one have fine or medium nibs:

The ones below all have square cut nibs of different widths and sharpnesses. Apologies for the poor photography. I'll post a few vintage ones in a separate message to follow

What's the third one from the left, second row (right below the green Toledo?) in your first photo? It's a really pretty looking pen.

I think that´s the M620 Athens from the City Series.

And the green one isn´t a Toledo but the M800 Hunting.

Thanks, carola.

I thought it might be an Athens, but wasn't 100% sure. Likewise, I wasn't sure whether it was one of the Hunting pens, so calling it a Toledo was a safer bet.

I don't like a lot of the "Cities" collection, but Athens is my second favorite after Piccadilly Circus. Not, of course, that I can afford either one.... :(

Yup, "Athens". I stopped at three of the City Series (+ Berlin and Stockholm), wish I'd gone for a few more (Madrid and Chicago!) but while I was thinking, prices skyrocketed :)

Here's my humble vintage Pelikan collection. I'm not chasing after exotic (aka expensive :) ) variations but missing main models always welcome (e.g. the 100 desk pen, of which I only have the base). From left: 100, 100N, Rappen, 120, 140, 300, 400, 400N, 400NN, P1 Silvexa and P1 Rolled Gold:

Below is set of steel-nibbed school pens, marked only "Pelikan W. Germany". Would love to know if they had a name or model number....

No Ibis in your collection?

Your Expo 2000 pens are nice.

With the Cities series, I think I would like San Francisco. And maybe Athens.

With the Grand Places series, I would probably go for Place de la Concorde. And maybe Grand Place, but not in the M620 version, I like the M800 version with the dark filling knob and section better.

But I never bothered to go after them.

Well spotted Carola, my Ibis has been missing for some months, I thought it must be in the house somewhere but hope is fading....time to look for a new one (after which I'll find the old one of course :))

Thank you, I got them as part of a trade and wasn't sure at first (a bit bling?) but they're growing on me.

Welcome back, Michael S. Thank you for sharing. Your collection is impressive and seems focused on pelikans with vermeil cap. Even Burnt orange:) On the first photo (bottom row) there are M600 or 850 with vermeil cap?

Hi Barutti,

Thank you and yes I went through a vermeil phase at one point  - I'm now a bit less keen as the caps are very vulnerable to dings/scratches and must be handled with great care.

The vermeil pens in the first photo:

Top row: 1st from left, 1000 size with custom lemon yellow binde; 4th from left, 800-size with custom brown striped binde.

Bottom row: 4th, 5th and 6th from left are 600 size. 7th from left is 400 size with custom brown/green binde. The next two are 400 size pen and pencil with silver caps. And the last vermeil is in 300 size.

You probably will. ;)

There is an Ibis waiting for me and I will get it next week. A friend of mine wants to swap it against an oldstyle M400 (green striped) from the early 1990s that seems to have never been inked and used. I bought it "by accident" and don´t need it as I have an oldstyle M400 from the 1980s. He, on the other side, doesn´t care for the Ibis. So we´ll just swap pens and then I will have to take a close look if the pen is okay and worth servicing/restoring it, as the Ibis seems to have a habit of developping fissures that make a restoration pointless. I´ll keep my fingers crossed the Ibis is okay and the M400´s barrel doesn´t leak. B)

Good luck with the trade. Like puppies, Ibis/Rappen are adorable!

Hello! Here are my Rappen and IBIS collections.

I am sorry for poor picture quality.

AS you know, "Rappen"and "IBIS" were brands of Günther Wagner as well as "Pelikan".

IBIS

IBIS with CN nib

There were much more versions in Rappen and IBIS than I thought.
