What are the #1 & #2 from the left hand side?

A green/green and a green/black?

Is there an “official” name for the #3 as compared to #8, usually named “light tortoise”?

Second from the right hand side? A white gold replated 140, like the one previously discussed in the “Dating Pelikan Fountain Pen” thread?

Thanks.

#1 Pelikan 400 Green/Green

#2 Pelikan 400 Black/Green (most common variant)

There is no official name known. Not for the Light Tortoise nor the half-Light Tortoise.

The Pelikan 140 is an official Black-Chrome variant (1957-65)

A quick search of this topic showed no photos of the P1.

Did I miss it, or does that model get no love?

The P1 is a nice pen, but I don't have a familiy of p1 to take a picture. So this picture is the closest to a fymily photo I have:

It shows the similaritys in design between a 500NN a P1

Here’s my little flock (with the Jazz Elegance, a good writer-  I think is a Pelikan in name only, but as it’s emblazoned with the brand, I included it):

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Pilot Silvern Dragon IB, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

Is the white one with the metal section the Jazz Elegance?  That's a really attractive looking pen, and a model I was not familiar with.

I'm guessing that the one next to it is an M400 (?) -- that was the one I wanted the most when I started "bird hunting", but took me a while to get (and then I ended opting for the M405 in the Blue Black -- because even though it cost more, there was just something about how the rhodium plated nib and trim looked on it...).

Yes, that’s the Jazz Elegance. It has feedback similar to a steel Sailor nib.  It comes in black as well. I love the rhodium trim, at  some point  I would like a M605 Stresemann, but I have a thing for blue pens with gold trim.

Now with the addition of the Black-Striped 400, I finally have copies of each of the base models for the 400 (Green-Striped, Black-Striped, and Tortoise). Now, to hunt after the more rare ones...

From left to right:

Pelikan 400 Black-Striped
- B
- Later production model as identified by the nib and also the clip (earlier are more wide).

Pelikan 400 Green-Striped
- F
- EDC pen

Pelikan 400 Green-Striped
- EF, lovely tarnish on the nib

Pelikan 400 Tortoise
- M
- Mint pen with the nib width sticker

Pelikan 400 Tortoise
- BB, earlier gen “Script” nib, also nicely tarnished
- This nib is absolutely mint, still retains the sharp, cursive italic corners and edges, and a ton of tipping

Pelikan 400 Tortoise
- BB, earlier gen “Script” nib
- EDC pen

An M800-centric collection (L to R):

R800 blue stripe, but with an Ohto ceramic red refill that fits perfectly

M800 green stripe, Richard Binder XF nib

M800 red stripe, sadly opaque due to a ChartPak repair/exchange

M800 burnt orange, a favorite despite no ink window

M800 brown stripe

M800 renaissance brown, perhaps the real tortoise M800! Has better cap-body color match than some.

M640 Sahara, sad that the M640 wonders series lacks the Pelikan beak clip but lovely binde

M805 dark blue, acquired after obsessing 20 years

M805 black
M805 demonstrator, a steal since the auction ended during the SuperBowl
M910 yellow toledo
M910 red toledo
M800 blue stripe, not a favorite but proud of my humble restoration of a semi-disaster eBay find (& it has a PF-badged nib)

Also: P205 cartridge-filler black and R215 classic rings, above the trays, plus 2 spare nibs because I felt the OCD need to 'correct' 2 two-tone M805/M910 nibs with post-2015 monotone M805 nibs. Two different-logo typewriter ribbon cases that hold copper book darts & Midori book indexes (indices). The pens range, as best I can tell, from ~1998 (blue stripe M800) to 2023 (black M805). The trays, incidentally, had their Pelikan logos blacked out with Sharpies at some pen shop, but rubbing alcohol did the trick. Long term plan is to demote the R800 from place of honor in the trays & find another silver-furniture pen for 6-6 balance & maybe seek an OM nib.

There was a new guy this year at the Pittsburgh Hub, and he brought his stash along -- including a family heirloom Pelikan that had belonged to his great uncle, and an M620 Piccadilly Circus (which of course I was just drooling over, but can't afford).

Thank you @DnzUlc, @mana for your comments😄.

When Pelikan was making the 100 and 100N, their specifications were changed every year or every two years. It is understood that Pelikan was trying to provide good fountain pens, even during the difficult times of the war and the postwar period. As a result, many versions of the 100 and 100N were produced. There are also many versions of the 400. But I gave up collecting them all😝.

If I could pick only one of your pens, tacitus, I would go for the 100N Toledo. This is the one pen I would REALLY like to own and probably never will.

Chapeau to your collection.
