Parker Jotter With A Rare/ Weird Clip

I just bought this 1985 vintage UK-made Parker Jotter ballpoint. I bought it on a whim just because I happen to really like its color. But the minute I arrived home, I noticed that the clip has an unusual feature that so far I haven't seen on any other pen: the clip arrow has no feather up top!

 

Anyone has a pen like this? Has any one seen one before?

 

Really intrigued as to why it is missing such a feature.

That seems to be the case. I once heard from a former Parker employee that sometimes the stamping machines wore off and some pens had faint or non-existent stampings as a result.

 

Anyway, gotta tell you it looks a tiny bit more similar to the original 50's Jotter, so not bad at all.

Yeah, that's the sole reason I went for this pen. Do you own any Jotter bp's?

Turns out, this pen wasn't made in 1985 as I originally assumed. It was manufactured in 2005 and is part of a limited edition batch celebrating the Jotter's 50th anniversary, hence the featherless clip.

Just modern Jotters.

I agree, I bought several of the limited edition anniversary jotters and none had feathers on the clips

Top ---The brass sleeve pulls down past the barrel. It does not come off.

Gorgeous pens! If am not mistaken, the clip on the bottom one is just like the very first edition Jotters that came about in the mid 50's. But the metal tip on the barrel came later.

 

As for the top one, never seen one like it. Looks pretty nice. Could it be a place to put personalization over it, like the Sheaffers of that era?

No, dome top '58-'70 style. Cap does have the Parker imprint on the it.
