What Sheaffers Have Joined Your Collection Lately?

Two more No Nonsense arrived this week: a purple fine and a black medium. Which, with the calligraphy set noted above means 3 pens and five nibs. This wasn't planned. The black m came with a vintage glass pen tray I ordered for The Pen Cabinet... it as if No Nonsense pens attract each other, like magnets. I buy one and look what happened in a few weeks.

 

And now I'm eyeing a Targa...

That's interesting looking.  Don't suppose they made it as a fountain pen, did they?  

Of course I'd want one that didn't have a black barrel.  Maybe dark blue or dark green to match the acanthus leaf work on the cap....

Conversion to a fountain pen is easy.  Unscrew the RB section, use a paper clip to yank the spring out of the barrel, insert a NN nib unit, or a Balance II/Connaisseur nib unit.  I'm pretty sure you know someone who has  some of the NN and "vintage" (gold plated NN) nibs.

Sheaffer Saratoga. Cleaned up well, will see in time if it needs new sac/washers.

I only recently discovered Sheaffer so all (except the gold one at the top) are new to me in the past few months.

 

The Stainless Steel No Nonsense arrived as a rollerball, but is now a fountain pen with a fine italic nib.

Just bought this trim little Tuckaway Touchdown. I was expecting to have to replace the sac and o rings but to my surprise the sac held ink and it’s airtight! Nice fine nib too.

A stroke of luck, supported by a great friend, brought me this navy blue Sheaffer PFM V trio, very new. Spectacular fountain pen, the mechanical pencil and the ball do not disappoint.

Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman, Verde Pastel - 1958/59 - Nib Palladium Silver - B4. Ponta muito rara e maravilhosa. Parece uma bola rolando. Essa caneta também foi encontrada graças ao grande esforço do meu amigo restaurador especializado em Sheaffers @RICARDOBORBA .

1940ish 'Defender', although I don't think they came in green, I only saw black, carmine and brown in an ad....but still sweet, cleaned up nicely and after some brief nib adjustment, Feathertouch 5, it writes quite smooth for a fine....and just wet enough !

Haven't bought a new Sheaffer in years, but someone gifted me a dark green Icon recently. Didn't have very high expectations, but it was a surprisingly smooth and competent writer; especially for a Fine nib. Probably gonna carry it around in lieu of some of the other pens I've got lying around, since they'd be far harder to repair or (heavens forbid) replace.

No pix yet (sorry -- it's been a weird week) but someone gave me a Sheaffer No-Nonsense with an Italic F nib.  Interesting color -- the barrel is a reddish orange, and the cap is off white with a floral design on it.

Inked it up with some vintage Skrip Peacock, but the ink seems to be too wet for that nib....
