Hey Liz!

I actually have this one! I use it in my "wet" nibs and love the shading. It's my #2 green ink, #1 is Pelikan 4001 Dark Green. One day I hope to try out Montblanc Irish Green, heard many good things about it. :)

I can see why it's popular - nice shading, interesting color. It's also easy to clean out. It was very difficult to get the color close to correct - some inks just don't like having their picture taken! Personally, I like a little less yellow and more murk in my greens, but I like this well enough that it'll get all used up eventually.

Great review Liz!

This is one of those inks that I regret having bought...... :)

It's a darker version of Herbin Vert Olive..., which I already had a small bottle....

Keep up the good work, see you on Friday for a next episode ;)

:D Thanks! And yes, see you Friday - Lamy Blue Black. (Not the following Friday, though - that'll be my catch-up week.)

Yep. Same. It was one of my firsts inks. Used nearly all of it up making mixes.

:) This is why I always recommend samples. And for newbies, lots of samples! A very kind soul here sent me like 20 samples of a wide variety of inks - biggest FP favor anyone ever did for me. I discovered colors I never expected to like (murky greens, Oranje Boven, Fuyu-Syogun), learned about a variety of brands, and found that I'm madly in love with variety - I'm quite content in most cases to just run through a few mL of a color and move on. Rarely (anymore) do I feel the need to get a whole bottle - but when I do, I know it's a bottle I'm going to love.

I was young!

I was new to all this!

What did I know :crybaby:

I've learnt my lesson now and the ink purchase success rate is almost 100% nowadays.

Two recent samples of GvFC Cobalt Blue and Midnight Blue  will no doubt lead to full bottles of both when money starts to come in again

Been there, done that, have the bottles to prove it!

Ah, one of two R&K inks of which I have multiple bottles stockpiled! I like the colour, although I'm not totally crazy about it, but it's exactly the sort of colour that my wife likes. Thanks for reviewing it.

Sigh. I don't know how well that idea can be executed in continental Europe, as far as acquiring lots of ink samples commercially is concerned. From what I can see, it doesn't work "at all" in Australia and New Zealand. I doubt it works well in Japan, China or India which, I_assume, are collectively where the majority of current and prospective fountain pen users and budding hobbyists reside).

When Australia Post resumes accepting international ("Economy air") letter post articles containing 'merchandise' — which it has suspended indefinitely for the time being — please feel free to hit me up for more 'variety' to keep you entertained, and in turn entertaining enlightening us with your sorely needed EF nib-focussed ink reviews. :D

Well, in America, I'd say create a demand and someone will provide the supply, but I don't know that that works elsewhere - doesn't always work here anymore. But I hope more retailers see the value of it and decide to fill the gap.

Wow! That's a very kind offer, thank you! I've got inks to last me quite a while into next year, but this would be fabulous, and I'm sure EF users will appreciate it to. Let's talk when Australia Post go back to normal. (But I sure hope their prices are better than ours - I would have to sell an arm to ship something to Australia!)

By (untracked) international letter post, in my experience I can send as many as six up-to-2ml vials of ink to the US forA$3.20 (⋍US$2.25 today) as a ≤50g large letter. To send the same contents as a standard parcel, it costsA$21.00 (⋍US$14.75). The packaging and vials cost roughlyA$0.80 all up.

I've worked the packaging method "down to a fine art". :D My such "large letters" usually weigh in at 48g on the post office's electronic scales, leaving enough leeway for the stub of a CN22 customs declaration form, which shouldn't count towards the postage assessment anyway, and I usually give the completed form to the post office staff to affix only after they have weighed the package and printed the postage fee label.

Wow! You certainly have! Looks like the cheapest option from USPS for that weight is $17.25! Minor difference!

I can attest to that....It's work of art in precision and a work of art in presentation..... :)

Thanks Liz! great job as always!

Just a note to anyone reading, if you want to see (hear) something facinating, watch the video at 2X speed. the "tap tap tap" of the nib turns into more of a chalk on a chalkboard sound, it's kinda neat!

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

You're very welcome! (And yes, that was fun, though apparently it's been too long since I heard chalk on a chalkboard.)
