Okay...now I bought Taccia Ao, Kawco Midnight, and JH Toits de Paris.

I probably thought it was No!  More ink.

I like this. Plus I need No! More! Pens!

I got a bottle of Kaweco Midnight this year. I like that ink. I hope you enjoy yours.

I *completely* forgot the inks I got a couple of weekends ago at an estate sale south of me (the one where I went to look at all the pens but didn't get any (the prices were okay but not great, and everything but the desk pen sets were in the hallway outside the apartment where the sale was, and the lighting in the hallway was TERRIBLE).  But inside the apartment itself, in the room where the desk pens and bases were, they also had inks.

So, my latest Ink acquisitions:

1) The only one I've tried so far: a mostly full 3 oz. bottle (I think) of Noodler's Legal Lapis (didn't care for it at first, but after sitting for a couple of days in a Noodler's FPC, it's become a stronger color (although still perhaps a bit too green leaning a teal for my taste).

2) a full (I think) 1 oz. bottle of Noodler's Luxury Blue.

3) a partly (I think) full 80 ml bottle of some as yet to be identified blue Diamine ink.

Having started...more or less (don't remember much of anything about the more expensive Shaffer/Parker inks), back in the '50-60s with Pelikan's 30ml ink bottles. Thought the 'new' MB 60 ml bottles 'big'...or even the R&K 50ml as big.....80ml...is humongous.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

That Ao got me too. One of the most beautiful blues I’ve seen lately. I put red, white and blue mica  (was watching US soccer on Saturday) in my sample once I received the full bottle and it’s glorious. I’ve been looking at the new Herbin line and rubbing my hands together.

@fireant, I also got fomo and ordered the three discontinued Pilot inks in September. Tsutsuji is a complex ink, I swatched it last night and I was surprised at what I saw when it dried.

Hey, given what a crummy week last week was?  I'm lucky I remembered my own name.... :headsmack:  And this week hasn't been a lot better, including some stupee twinkie who left an hangup call on the answering system and then when I called back (on a phone I CAN block incoming calls on) -- being all ready to annoy the caller in return with a song that is the TOP of my list of "songs to play to song spammers -- if I ever describe a song as "Yeah, you know...." that's the song I mean.  Only to get some chick who claimed that she had tried to call some number in a down downriver (now I KNOW for a fact that she had to have misdialed at LEAST the exchange #, if not both it and the last four digits).  Then after I had to explain to her, "No, I'm NOT the person you thought you were trying to call" I got another call on the house line that was some # from Washington DC, leaving a message saying that they were going to arrange for people to get rides to their local polling place (it's halfway across town from me -- in good weather I could probably WALK there ).

And that was AFTER running to the post office to toss political spam back in the mail as "REFUSED -- RETURN TO SENDER" (writing "Void" with a black sharpie over the part to send away for a mail-in ballot) -- only to get ANOTHER spam political ad in the mail TODAY....

So my friend is visiting from out of town and is staying a block away from Kinokuniya. We went shopping before we had lunch and I ended up with a bottle of Platinum Cyclamen pink. We also went to Muji and that belongs in the Stationery junky thread.

3 1/2 weeks since I ordered six inks from Wales.....two days to get out of GB.Last Friday it got out of Customs....this is a week later and it still hasn't moved.

German Postal service I am sure was better back when the Government ran it. I could have walked up to the middle of N.E. Germany where they hid that center. No strikes that I know if...just pure inefficiency.

I do get to clean pens (a over filled pen cup) when I get home today. I didn't manage to do that yesterday.

OK..German customs is overwelmed...65,000 packages every day....most from China....broken down in price so there is no customs (just more mailing costs)....one fork individually wrapped and mailed......same with a knife and spoon of a dinner set..........plus that is a way to send counterfeit goods and drugs.

.....................Cheap Chinese goods make the '50's Cheap Japanese goods, look like they were made in Paris.

Not fountain pens, and I'm sure there is much made in China that is good enough....but toys come in  and fail any health standard in the world**...so Customs really has to check that. .

**Your kid really does need lead poisoning.

After way too many spam text and scam calls I gave up and got a new phone number. I'd had the old number since 2005. Eep! One other person owned my new number. If it's a call from CA or if the text/voice message is in Spanish than I know if was for the gal who had the number before me. Once or twice I even answered and told them I was the new phone person.

Also, I need to know what song you play to spammers please? Asking for a friend.

Germany must be doing something right...now...

Could be my wife don't answer numbers she don't recognize or prefixes from Turkey; our call center land.

Dammed few spam calls, once every two or three months**, and I don't remember the last time I had spam on my computer.

Could be in I'm not very social; not twitting, tic tocking waiting for the crocodile or X'ing.

Just here BSing.

** My wife got a call, 'do you want to be rich'.... answering, 'No, I'm already quite rich'....leaving the troll flabbergasted. ...a major exaggeration....but what the hell.

Not sure you can find it easily.  Pretty obscure album and it's a cover of a song from a *Disney movie* at that....  I'll PM you the URL for the URL (and if that's gone poof, let me know and I'll PM you the YouTube URL for the entire album (when you see the list of songs, you'll know which one it is).

The rest of the album is pretty decent.  That one track, though?  I would like to have been a fly on the wall when the executive was made that it was a REMOTELY good idea -- just to see how much of the way of drugs and alcohol were involved in the decision making process....  (Possibly the only thing worse was some 60s' group's psychedelic cover I heard of "Ding Dong The Witch is Dead"  And THAT in itself is pretty horrendous....

Thanks lamarax!  I need to add that to the list of URLs (everything from novelty songs to SF filk) of "songs to play at phone spammers".

I'd LOVE to be able to play all of "Alice's Restaurant" -- or "Bob Dylan's 115th Dream" but I suspect most people's voicemail systems would cut out about a quarter of the way through....

My six inks from Wales (two days to get out of GB), that sat in German customs (25/9-17-10) for weeks, and then laid around the DHL warehouse for days (17-21), Monday delivery....maybe....was supposed to be Today, Saturday.

Should have checked the tracking number instead of wiating for the mail man to ring once.

Well did the second level of cleaning of 9 fountain pens....even drained and wrapped, there is always some left over ink in a piston fountain pen.

With 27 pens in the two clean pen cups:yikes:....what an odd occurrence, ...... I should have no problem finding F-M and B or B+, nibs for the ink tests.

In many folks have F nibs, I'll have to scribble a couple lines in F. F will prove how will the inks shade.

:bunny01:With piston pens I don't have to fill to the top, I can do a half a twist....and afterwards fill up a brand new, empty, dirty pen cup!!!

18ml bottles of HongDian ink in nine different colours, and WeTone (aka Yun ting) ink in three different colours, that are new to me. Also two 40ml bottles of TACCIA Jeans collection Navy Blue ink; I'd previously ordered one from Amazon some months ago, but the order still hasn't been fulfilled, and it doesn't look like it will be fulfilled even though at the time of ordering the system advised there was “only 1 left in stock”.

The 6 Pure Pen inks finally came in after only a month hung up in German customs, two weeks stuck in some room outside of Customs,  and 10€ custom taxes and they charged me €6 more for something....storage...

I'd heard about folks in England getting screwed so, but I didn't think it would happen in Germany, in the company paid for the mail to my door. Interrupt deliver and make me pay more...the wife thinks it was because I had to pay at the door for the package.

.....................

I fully cleaned, let drain in a paper towel over night and re-cleaned them....and 2 of the 9 pens I so double cleaned were still just contaminated enough I couldn't do an ink review with them.

For normal use I'm not so OCD.

Four (18ml) bottles of Nakabayashi‡ ‘Pure Black’ pigment ink:

O1CN01XHSxOe1WsbJjNJdq6_!!2216480632844.

p.s. Its effective price is very cheap.

Nakabayashi owns the TACCIA trademark, but this isn't a TACCIA ink.

Flexing unbelievable…! Both purchases, ordered from the TACCIA Official Store and the Logical (which is a sub-brand of Nakabayashi) Official Store respectively, fell through. Listed as available but no stock, not officially discontinued as far as they tell me, but no foreseeable date of restocking. And if things go south when ordering on Taobao, there's a high chance of the overseas shopper losing money, even when the store offers a refund of what it sees as the transaction price, due to the high and often complicated international shipping charges not being refunded (even though the tax and credit card processing fees tend to end up getting refunded, albeit very messily).

I was at a conference this week in Houston and I hit up the Mont Blanc store at The Galleria to try out a couple of pens and see what all the fuss was about (sadly, some of their italic pen testers were away...one being fixed and one having disappeared).  But the customer service was very nice so I picked up a bottle of MB's Amethyst ink, probably one of the cheapest items in the store ($25 for 60ml).  Additionally, they told me about Dromgoole's where I went after my conference.  While browsing their inks I got Noodler's Texas Blue Bonnet (their store's exclusive) and then super impulsively got KWZ Honey.  The Noodler's is currently in my possession, as I'm considering it a souvenir from my trip.  The MB Amethyst is currently hanging out with a pen from Dromgoole's that might become an anniversary or Christmas present.  And I don't know if the KWZ Honey is going to be a gift or a stocking stuffer or is going to find its way from under the bed (where future presents are kept) to my collection of current inks.
