I look forward to trying out my new Taccia inks! Very pretty packaging, and my experience with prior Taccia inks has been great. Thanks to Anja at  Papier & Stift for getting the package to me the day after ordering!

I bought a few different Wearingeul Glitter Potions that I had been wanting, but wasn’t a priority until I saw them in person at the Dromgooles table (I met the bulldog, whose name escaped my mind but he’s adorable) and the Sailor 2022 pen show ink that I liked a little better than this year’s color.

I bought a bottle of Diamine Claret. I'd seen a picture of this ink on The Good Blue's ig account and it's quite a gorgeous shader.

  • TACCIA Jeans ink Clear Navy — Amazon Prime Day deal
  • TACCIA Jeans ink Navy Blue — not a Prime Day deal, but at a close enough final price to that of the bottle of Clear Navy

I would have liked/preferred Gray Navy most of all, but alas it wasn't available.

  • Teranishi ‘Guitar’ Taisho Roman Haikara (or Taisho Romance High-Collar) Night Time Soda — Amazon Prime Day deal

My enabler husband reminded me of Prime Day deals so I ordered a couple of Hongdian inks, sky blue and peacock. I saw the Taccia, but I want Ao specifically and that wasn’t available.

What do you think of the Hongdian inks? I've been eyeing them, as a returning FP amateur with very few pens/inks. I'm disabled and extremely low income (after each month's copays for chemo, meds, and my many doctors), so FPs that cost less than $15 are the best I can hope for, and I've liked the "long knife" nib Hongdian I bought on Amazon with last month's discretionary $15 well enough after a bit of smoothing with some 4000/6000/8000/12000 grit micromesh pads. Not a daily writer, but I definitely felt it was a bit on the bargain side!

I'd love to hear your thoughts about their inks!

@grayautumndayAliexpress has some 20ml bottles of ink for $1.66, I've used a few colors and found them to be good.

They also have 70ml bottles of Hero ink for $4.63, this is a well-established ink company and widely used throughout Asia.

I like them so far, the colors are beautiful and well behaved. The amount of ink you get for the price is great. I also like a few of the inks available on AliExpress like @OCArt mentioned. I buy Ostrich, Ban Mi, and Yuyi inks from Dingyi Art Store for about $6-8 US with free shipping. These are smaller, 18mL, but very good sheening and shimmering inks. For Chinese pens, I prefer the Wing Sung, Yiren, and Chren brands for inexpensive pens that punch well above their weight.

I found out about the new R&K Blue Eyed Mary ink from @Lithium466, and ordered it and DeAtramentis Columbia Blue-Bronze from VanNess. Maybe this thread should be subtitled “I’m a Sad, Pathetic Ink Junkie.”

I bought a bottle of Platinum Blue/Black together with a 3776 Century. There was a summer sale at one of the Swedish web shops.

I do like R&K inks...whats the scoop on it?

The R& K Blue Eyed Mary is their limited edition 2024 ink named after a Brunnera plant, several stores are sold out. It’s relatively inexpensive for an LE at $12.95. I found it at Vanness, which gave me a chance to buy the DeAtramentis Columbia Blue-Bronze, which I have only seen sold there. Other stores carry the Columbia Blue gold, copper, and silver. I loved the Blue-Copper and thought the blue bronze would look good in my Indigo Bronze TWSBI Eco.

It’s a sickness, @Bo Bo Olson, I’ll tell you hwhat. Sometimes I give in, other times I put the iPad away and go garden, or write something, or exercise. It does make less of a dent in the wallet than pens do.
