Efnir: Platinum Classic Lavender Black

Thanks for the review! You inspired me to put the ink in my EF-nibbed Pilot Elite 95S for a change. That's the first time I've put anything other than Diamine Oxblood ink in that pen since it returned from my wife's fleet back to mine (after I bought her one of her own, in the same colour but with an F nib instead); it's long been considered a permanent pairing.

But really, it's just paler than in larger nibs.

Well, I'd say it's paler in drier nibs... as a matter of course. The steel Pilot Penmanship EF nib I have is marginally finer but also wetter than the EF nib on my Pilot Elite 95S, and writing in this ink with the former is noticeably darker in direct comparison.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Another great and fun review!

I have Cassis Black and Khaki Black and really enjoy them.

Your thumb twiddling to show time passing always makes me smile!

Thank you! Glad I'm not the only one amused by the twiddling. :)

Glad I inspired you to use the ink! It looks fabulous in your photos - makes me think I should use it again.

I'm surprised your Elite is drier than your Penmanship. In my experience, Pilot's gold nibs are wetter than their steel nibs - but then every nib is unique... Thanks for linking your photos - this ink really does look beautiful regardless of how wet or dry your nib is - not all inks can say that.

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 265µm.
