Desk pens are not my forte, but I'm drooling after that vintage nib. Must be so soft and flexible.

I also love the feeling of completeness which comes from the Lamy Safari picture. Nothing says perfection like a complete set. : )

Yes, this is the LE "Brown"

Finally!!!

 

...got a new pen. A nice additon to my Waterman's 52V collection.

 

It's a Waterman's 52V in RHR with a quite uncommon capband. I was a little bit excited when I got the parcel...

...and when unwrapped, I took the whole family to the studio to take a picture:

10 years ago I started with my fisrt 52V, an occasional find in the wild. Since then I continued slowly in collecting these interesting pens.

I am curios what will be next...

Fantastic! Where did you acquire the textured Alpin please? I have one too and was lucky enough to be able to exchange it with another FPN user who was looking for a rarity from me whilst I was looking for the textured Alpin from them

Yes it's there, but it's hard to see frome the pic. I've tried several times to take good pictures of the mate Alpine with no success. Here are the latest:

At least with my equipment it seems to be nearly impossible to get reasonable pictures of the mate surface.

 

 

Where did you acquire the textured Alpin please?

 

From ebay.

 

When I was on the hunt for a mate Alpin, I bought at least 12 Alpins from the far eastern area. Two of them were mate. I can't really remember but I think that one came from Singapoore and the other one from Taiwan. I kept my second one to trade for another rare Safari as you, or to sell it one day if I should get a reasonable offer.

I miss the matte Alpine WeiB so much!

in my collection it has become a little quieter - not many new entries to register. sometimes it needs a short break for new orientation. so i havn't bought much stuff since a couple of month.

there were some pens that didn't really fit into the collection, but were too pretty to sell...so I bought them a matching pencil that they weren't too alone.

 

For example this Parker Duofold Mandarin from 1928. Thanks to a good friend, it got a perfect pencil. Thank you Ariel.

and this Parker Vacumatic Oversize got thanks to the fantastic site* of David Nishimura a perfectly kept pencil. Thank you David.

(...these Vac pencils are not easy to catch, and even not in silver pearl and OS!)
