About the black pelikans is the green part only the ink window? It looks interesting as I assume the other parts are opaque?

Your pens are awesome, and the pictures, too!

May I ask for advice how to take such wonderful pictures? :)

As you know, am I in love currently - in Matador love! From a friend I got a very generous gift. It's this Turbo Matador 921. It came without nib to me and it took me some time to find a matching one. But here we go:

The Turbo Matador is a push knob filler with some additional mechanics at the back. The pushknob is activated by turning the knurled hardrubber knob.

Turbo Matadors had to compete with Montblancs "Stossfüller" and Goldfinks "Wunderfüller". That's why they needed a mechanism which is different at all and advanced to the common push knob fillers.

Nice pen, what do you think?

Interesting! Thanks for the breakdown.

With all these Matadors you've been getting, I think you're going to need one of these soon:

Christof,

After seeing your illustration showing how it works, many of us will probably start paying attention Matador pens!

Last week was a good week!

I was able to ad two nice pens to my Lamy collection. The first is a Lamy Persona, designed by Mario Bellini and made in 1990. This is the variant with makrolon Barrel and Palladium cap which I prefer most because of the light weight of the pen. The other three variants are entire made of metal and are quite heavy pens.

I already had a second one in matte black.

Now they are a cute couple.

So this one will stay in use for a while I think...

The second one is a Lamy 99S Desk pen, or "Schreibtischgarnitur" called in German. The pen is mint, unused and boxed with papers!

I have never seen another one, so I think this is a quite uncommon and rare pen.

Wow! Had never seen the Persona with the makrolon barrel.

The Persona is a really nice pen, IMO. I have a titanium rollerball version that was given to me as a gift in the late '90s, and of late have keeping my eyes open for a FP, which I hope to find one day.

It's one of the few self-consciously postmodern designs in fountain pens that I really like.

Dear Christof,

Those pictures!!! They are ready to be published in a magazine. Not only the quality, but the layout as well. What a talent. Absolutely gorgeous! I always just sit and stare ...

And the 99S with an original box? I know there was one, but never seen it. Thank you ... J

Kind regards,

Jan

Just finished going through the whole thread, amazing pens but my initial sense of foreboding was dead-on, I'm now infatuated with Soennecken 222. I also read that you're not big on tortoises christof which was a surprise! Especially after seeing those beautiful light tortoises. I don't know when and how but I will get those two models sometime in my life. I didn't think I would find any pens more beautiful than the M1000 Raden moonlight, but the light tortoise is much more elegant and quietly beautiful. If yours ever needs a new home, I will pamper it!

You truly have an amazing collection christof and your photographs are unlike any I have seen. Drawings and technical tidbits you drop here and there are incredibly informative. Thank you very much for sharing all of this with us.

I just had a look to your flickr account. Impressive!

...and there is a picture of a small pen exhibition: https://www.flickr.com/photos/lamy_fp/15748471452/

on which I think to see another 99s. What do you think?
