What's Up At Christof's

Christof, would it be possible to see a side by side photo of the 400s, both Green on Green and Green on Black? And then, if you want to throw in the tortoise versions, well, we wouldn't mind that, either.

No problem - this picture does already exist.

…the Green on Green is the second from right.

That is a very rare pen indeed, and really amazing pictures of it!

I remember reading about your pen-photography set up, that was quite a while ago and I think it was in another FPN thread. Could you guide me to that thread or eventually add here some info on how you manage to make these crystal clear pictures?

Thanks Joris but I have no idea where the mentioned old thread could be found… that's one of the reasons for "what's up at…" . Every thing keeps together here. But here's the principle sketch of the set up. Will also post a pic of the real studio when I'll find the time…

currently I'm using a Nikon D80, a Micro Nikorr 55/2.8 and a polarisation filter for better contrast and colors. of course photoshop is involved as well.

Once again an amazing variety I was not aware of, Christof. Thank you!

You will be one of the only collectors with a complete set of this rare version of the 400 series ! Bravo on finding them all! I've only ever had one of these pens- the 400 itself. The 400N will be very rare indeed !

Thank you, but I know at least one other guy who has them all three. he's a friend of mine. And I am sure there are more to find.

Pardon my ignorance, Christof, but what is the third from left in the upper picture? The piston knob and the barrel appear to be an unusually dark green, while the cap seems to be black.

Christof, this picture really shows the difference between the green on green and the green on black. Beautiful pens - thanks for continuing to educate and entertain us!

It's Black. Black striped barrel and black piston knob. If it seems gray, that's just the picture.

what a pity, that's a real treasure chest. Fabulous!!!

Just one of them would already make an extraordinary christmas present. And there's not only one, but so many!

Greetings,

Michael

Same to you, Christof, and many thanks for this interesting and informative thread. It's one of the reasons I finally subscribed to FPN...
