Who Recognizes This Nib?

I suspect it's a very standard one. It came on a pen that my wife kindly gave me last year.

The words on it are simply "Iridium Point Germany".Special Nib 1.jpgSpecial Nib 2.jpg

I'd like to try a flex nib on the pen. Is there one available?

These nibs can write well and are often used on pens made in China.

You might post photos of the entire pen: capped, uncapped, visible writing/marking.

If the pen is from a popular maker it could be identified.

OK, finally getting this up here.

My wife got it for me from someone at a craft fair; I think she chose the material and had it made.

The box says "PSI Woodwork". It certainly writes well, and I'd like to try a flex nib on it too.

Is this enough to make a positive or probable ID? What else would I need to know in order to get another nib for it?

It's a kit pen: the various pieces are sold and then assembled into the turned barrel. You could try a Jowo #6 in it, it may fit...

Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

It's not a JoWo. It's a cheap no-name chinese nib that they often stamp "iridium point germany", shorthandedly known as "IPG" nibs.

It looks like a #5. A #5 bock or JoWo would likely fit. I have my doubts that one of the #5.5 indian flex nibs would fit, but you could always try. A vintage #2 gold flex nib likely will fit.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)
