That’s a nice set @SLinkster  you have inspired me to get before and after photos of my Amethyst demonstrator that has ink in the cap.

This is a photo from eBay of the True Writer Amethyst with ink in the cap.

After many soakings in the ultrasonic cleaner, here is the Amethyst pen, with Diplomat Lilac in the converter.

inside the cap liner is a metallic cylinder which I’d guess is part of the clip and finial.

Thank you @RedPie. I didn’t get all the ink out, I don’t think. But close enough. It took a lot of soaking in the ultrasonic cleaner. Then it got to the point where only warm water would work. I had the hope that eventually it would all come out at once. But not so. Poor neglected pen. I’m glad I could save it.

I’m liking the True Writer French Impressionists very much. It’s an attractive pen. This thread inspired me to look at eBay for more True Writers. I’m so glad I found the pens and this thread.

It's great to read that, Misfit.

Just bought this fountain pen/ballpoint set from an eBay vendor. Got lucky when I spotted the listing. I was a bidder when the set was listed a couple of weeks ago, but didn't win the auction. The winner didn't follow through with payment, so they were relisted. I was looking for something else when I spotted the relisted set with a BiN option. A little negotiation and *presto* the set will be mine. Those initials aren't mine but I don't care a bit. Sale includes two bottle of Levenger ink, one Cobalt Blue, one Raven (not ink colors I need so I will likely pass that along). Seller is also throwing in a parts pen of some sort with a "broken case but some good parts"; can't wait to see what that really means  😬

I think this is the Purple Majesty colorway, but it could be Mosaic Purple. Hard to tell from the photos. Here's hoping the collar is in good shape.

@SLinkster congratulations on the win. The pens looks great. eBay sends emails on True Writers auctions, but I don’t always read them. Maybe I should. Let us know what all you get please.

I was looking on eBay for the Kyoto pen. A fountain pen which was listed as White Marble showed up. Since it was a Speerbob listing, I bought it. It will be interesting to see if it is indeed called white marble.

It cost $45, while Pinkly was $34. Curious.

I got these photos from the listing for the pen I bought.

The True Writer arrived today. The seller called it white marble. I don’t remember that as a Levenger color name. Which color is it?

My photo is not color accurate. It’s more like the color I posted above from the eBay listing.

@SLinkster I looked WLS up. It is a radio and also tv station in Chicago. It could also stand for When Lightning Strikes among other options in acronyms. One was World League Soccer.

Yep! I grew up listening to WLS 📻 However, these items came from the East coast, from an eBay seller who handles private estate stuff. I suspect WLS are someone's initials. Doesn't bother me at all to have a monogrammed pen and the W at least is one o of my initials too.

Donn just calls it "white" and says it's from April 2000. Looks just like the one I bought a couple of months ago 😀

I understood it was someone’s initials. I was hoping to help you find a way to connect WLS to you. But it was already there. You listened to WLS. That’s so cool.

Pen twins!  Have you put ink in yours?  I’m thinking either Oster Gold Antiqua or Midori Navy.

I do not currently have inked either the white or yellow True Writers that I've recently acquired. They both came with broad nibs; I tried one with a Levenger ink and with a Birmingham ink and was happy enough with it, found it to be moderately juicy without being a firehose. I ordered in a fine nib in anodized black that I plan to use in the white pen. One of the broads (maybe both, eventually) is going to Kirk Speer next month when I visit Dromgoole's, as I'd like a more narrow cursive italic than I currently have in the stable. Aaaand I have the medium nib that came in my amethyst Metalist, plus a spare collar and feed from a trashed-in-shipping nib that Levenger replaced.

I do have Oster Aussie Gold in the WLS pen, which came with a fine nib. Again, moderately juicy without gushing.

I never really liked the Metalist, thought it's too heavy. But I really like the resin/acrylic True Writers now that I have a couple to play with!

Thank you in advance for any identification help. I’m 95% certain it is the Kyoto.

It is, indeed, the Kyoto.  Although similar to the Tortoise, the Kyoto has the blue and pinkish elements seen in your photos.  Congratulations!

@donnweinberg thank you so much for verifying this for me. I did compare the pen to blog photos before buying it. Having never seen one in person, I wasn’t completely sure. Thank you again. The listing did not have the color name, so I asked the seller. The seller referred to photos that showed the cap band. Sigh.  I knew there were better people to identify the pen. Once again thank you, thank you, thank you.
