@Misfiti have several of the TW BPs. I like them as they’re a twist mechanism and they take my favorite refills which are the Monteverde (Parker style) Gel in broad in the blue-black (also black and blue).

Thank you for the information. Another member here has offered to sell a Kyoto Rollerball pen to me.

If I see a TW ballpoint that matches one of my TW fountain pens at a low price, I might will buy it thanks to your information. I appreciate it.

After comparing your photos with mine (not shown on this thread), I’m inclined to think that you have the Silver Seas and the Blue Delft, as you suspect.

I look at eBay every now and then. Speerbob has a listing for a TW in Oceanic Gray. It’s good to finally see one that I can zoom in on. You are right that mine is the Silver Seas.

The photos from Levenger make it harder to see the difference with the blue versions that are similar. I trust your judgment on this. My initial search to figure out what the two pens were called was based on photos I saw on the old Massdrop, Drop now.

Too many sellers don’t know the names of the pens. One seller I bought from has a Pelikan Cafe Creme, but doesn’t have that name in the title or description. I see eBay listing for True Writers with no color names. I suppose the outer box with the name is missing, so they don’t know.

That could be the case, assuming a seller even knows to check.  I’ll generally look at the seller’s other offerings, and if there are no other pens or very few other pens, then I consider the possibility that the seller is not aware of the importance of that information or is too busy to check and report.

ID can be an issue. I’ve religiously kept all my TW boxes since 1999. A long history of purchases. I need to do a listing of them. Some of them should be rare. 😊. While I never bought from Speerbob, he provides excellent customer service. They did some nice demonstrators early on (always greener and fireball) early on which have been some of my favorites.

The Flourish Forest green True Writer arrived today. It’s in a generic pen box, and the converter does not look like a Levenger converter. Oh well, at least the seller included a converter that seems to fit. I’ll try to get a photo, edit this post to include it. I filled the pen with the namesake Levenger Forest ink.

@Ceilidh thank you so much for letting us know the True Writer history is back at Levenger.

Is the history every TW ever released? Some years are missing and some have only 1 or 2 pens. I’ve bought them every year and most of mine aren’t in the History. Just saying not meant to be critical 😊

@mge01park Wow, none in the history?  That’s odd. Did you find yours in the archived pages from the links provided earlier?

Did I say none? I'll try what you said if the archives here are another way to look at it?

My question is/was what the history on the Levenger website purports to show as to the TW's displayed?

Oops, you said most aren’t in the history. That’s still odd for Levenger to leave them out.

All good. 🙏. I’m working on my TW listing and intend to get it together soon. I’ve kept every box so I’ll know the name of them. 😊. I did go overboard on the 2 Select groupings and did buy the Plumpster and some of the Stipula collaborations.

I just ordered 5 new True Writers, all ballpoints, as they aren’t yet offered (if ever they will be) as fountain pens.  I think I’ve pointed out before the absurdity of Levenger’s limitation on the use of points to reduce the cost of a purchase.  You are limited in any one order to use 400 points, equal to $40 off.  Had I ordered all 5 pens in one order, I would have saved only $40.  I split my purchases into two separate orders, one of 3 pens, the other of 2 pens.  For each order, I obtained $40 off, using 400 points in each order, for a total of $80 off spread over the two orders.  I have left nearly 1,400 points, worth another $120 with a remainder of 200 points — all from prior purchases.  In each case, the purchase qualified for free shipping.

I will end up receiving two packages.  Why doesn’t Levenger allow you to use all available points in one order (up to the total cost of your order)?  Does anyone have any idea why?  The way it actually works seems inefficient for Levenger, but I may be missing something.

That is curious. I’ve noticed other online sellers that offer rewards points start off letting you redeem a low number of points for a low percentage off. If you keep earning points, the rewards get better.

Unfortunately, I think I placed quite a few of my orders before points started at Levenger. I have under 100, and have never had enough to use.

I rather want the Northern Lights and Carrara fountain pens, but don’t want to spend full price.  I’m playing the waiting game for discontinued or really good percentage off.

@donnweinberg do you think the buy one get one is a great deal?

I hope some day you will post a photo of all your True Writers.  Pretty please!

I will, but so many have been purchased over time, that I may just start from the beginning and go to the present day with the photos.

One of these days when I have the time to also get them out of the boxes and assemble all for photos I will do it. It's on my list by year-end possibly. In the meantime, I'm posting some stuff now.  TW's and Levenger Stipula collab pens not in boxes as they're in rotation. In order, two tranches of boxed pens, the last TW Select (4 deep), other misc boxed pens, the Select before the last one. There's more roaming around in my office to also be included.

@mge01park thank you for the photos. You do have an impressive collection. I think I spy the Mink version in yours. I follow Margana on Flickr. She writes the Inkophile blog, and has the Mink True Writer fountain pen.

🙏. My two mink were bought when Levenger was closing their Boca Raton, FL store. How about $9 each. In those days they had TW FP’s with Broad Nibs as a choice. One of my favorites. 😊
