Lamy Safari Candy

Here are some pictures of the new Lamy Safari Candy special editions. I like the colors a lot more than the pastel colors from last year which were a little plain for my taste. Since the photo quality is only okay they have a bit of a blue hue to them which makes the Aquamarine seem a bit more turquoise than it is.

I wonder if Barnes and Noble (USA) will get a new filled floor display kiosk from Lamy when The Madness passes. The merchandise in the Lamy kiosk B&N here in Boise, Idaho, put on the floor in 2018 sold quickly. I don’t know what happened to all the new FP users but the Safaris and AlStars — despite medium-only nibs — were gone in a few weeks.

I ride a recumbent, I play go, I use Macintosh so of course I use a fountain pen.

Before all this madness started, here in New York we got a new B & N kiosk. Ours oddly enough had extra fines and broads as well as an Imporium that I bought.

My Violet Safari is en route from Little Rock, and Vanness Pens -- along with a clearance-priced Vibrant Pink al-Star. So excited! Should be arriving this weekend, according to the USPS tracking. I got one with a B nib, just to be different (if they'd had a black B nib in stock I probably would have picked that over the stainless steel, but whatever) and picked a 1.1 mm stub for the al-Star.

Mango is an odd color. The photos I've seen make it look more yellow-orange, but then someone who got one described it as been more of an egg-yolk yellow color.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Neat pens but I'm about tapped out on Safari's!
