I love the color orange and I’ve always been on the look out for a Parker 45. Just received and cleaned this puppy. Also I bought this Parker Jotter from Ian Scarborough last year and wanted to share it. He did the urushi on it!❤️❤️

I was telling my husband about this thread just now, and HE said "Remember -- this is NOT a competition!"

Although over the weekend I did pick up another Parker 61 for super cheap at an estate sale.  Finally got the capillary filler flushed enough that it's writing (no idea of what the ink in it is, though -- guessing from the color it might be vintage Quink Blue-Black (possibly the Permanent Blue-Black).

Now I get to play the game of "when it runs dry, refill it with more distilled water and see how long I can continue to use the pen with the ink in it until it gets so diluted as to be completely illegible on the page (my first 61 went for about 3 months, IIRC -- just *reconstituting* the ink as needed  -- until it got too pale on the page and I flushed it out thoroughly after that.

How can i picture 1700 + pens in just one picture? 😊

That’s why I included the plural. 😊 I bet it looks like a vintage table at a pen show, how fun!

I suspect it would end up looking more like SEVERAL tables....

Hmm.
This - clearly - would be Unpossible 😢

I therefore suggest that - for the avoidance of pictorial disappointment - you should sell me a minty full-sized Plum with a Lustraloy cap!
Reduction of the size of your collection by one might - just mightenable you to fit the whole of the remaining collection into one frame! 😉

I recently picked up a 51 flighter. It's pretty to look at, but I hadn't realised how heavy it would be in comparison to a regular 51!

And there I thought my 80+ was too many…BUT, I have managed to snag a Nassau Green and a full size Plum. Now I just need mustard and buckskin, two colors I’m not wild about to begin with!

I have not been on FPN for a longer time. I still miss the Classifieds, but I realize that in fact little has changed here (except the size of Mitto's collection 😊). I'm not sure if this fits in this thread. But since there is concentrated expertise here, I'll try anyway.

My own Parker "51" collection is much more modest, but I'm still a bit proud. My goal has been to own one of each color. I succeeded with the first and second generations.

I even was able to catch an english Insignia in rolled silver:

But I'm not sure about the third generation. I have not yet found a clear source on this subject. The Parker "51" book is also no help in this case. In my opinion, the problem is that the third generation was produced in the U.S. and the UK at the same time*, in different ways and with different materials.

I am especially unsure about the color gray. According to various sources, there was an American gray and an English gray. Can anyone here confirm this? I think someone who has 1700 Parker "51" might be able to… 😊

Please excuse me for hijacking this thread. If it bothers you, please just ignore my post.

Very impressive, very envious!

The Silver Insignia is the zenith in my humble opinion.

I may have both the US and UK grey P51 mk3. But don't ask me of a comparison picture. I am in the midst of repairing my house and everything is packed and bundled in a corner of the house (mixed with other stuff) that is undergoing complete repair.
