I'd day the black cap looks great with that pen and could well be left alone, unless there is an obsession with "correctness." Same for the nib if it writes well.

Latest for me is a duofold jr jade. Barrel is badly discolored and the cap is holding most of its original color.

I was looking forward to correct the cap of BTJ with this one , but unfortunately its the wrong jade color :(. this one is more opaque compared to the older pen.

For BTJ should it have the cutoff feed or the lucky curve feed itself  with the old style curved end?

Your feed’s Curve had no luck and was cut off.

My NOS Arrow Flighter arrived, what a beauty! Debating what ink to try first. 1864? It's an M so maybe some drier.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I know the black cap is wrong and all, but I really like the looks of that combination!

It looks like a modern design .The green black combination colours helps hide the different shades of green that many Parker Duofolds show.

My latest acquisition is a first-version Parker Urban, in the ‘Chiselled Ebony’ finish, with a ‘M’ nib.

Like the wood for which it is named, the lacquer finish on this pen is not black, but is instead a very dark brown.

I think that it is - and the pen’s ‘Gina Lollobrigida’ curves are - very pretty 😊

Yeah, it might be the modern look of it.

But it works. This gave me the idea of playing with the caps of my duofolds 😀!

My latest daily user; an arrowless Parker 61 ............. is this vandalism?  as many P61 owners will testify the lose of the section arrow ruins the look of an otherwise much collected beautiful pen. So, I have decided to restore the steamline good looks to one of my arrowless P61s. Being one who has tried, without success, to replace the section arrow, I decided to go down another route; remove any evidence of there ever having been an arrow. Opinions please, is this vandalism? or, as I think, is it making the best of a damaged pen? I have smoothed down the section so it is perfectly smooth to the touch, and a suggestion of the previous arrow insert can only be seen when held at an angle to the light, as in the section photo. Parker 61s have notoriously thin or brittle sections, so I have replaced the black plastic barrel to section connector with a new metal one which helps maintain the integrity or the section and it feels sturdy when holding and writing.

Well, given the admittedly brittle plastic used, I'd be worried about having "smoothed down" the place where the arrow had been -- more in terms of potential structural integrity than potential resale value.

I have a couple of 61s that were missing the arrow and that made them less expensive to buy.  But all of mine -- except for the Flighter (one of the ones missing the arrow) -- have developed cracks in the barrel or hood or both.

I don’t think it’s vandalism. I would call it.. sub-optimal. While making the best of the situation. Personally i wouldn’t have done it to a red one since they seem to be rather scarce… But on a black one i would consider it ok.

as to the cracks… i have one that is fine. No cracks. I have another where the barrel cracked in three places at the threads. Clearly due to shrinkage of the plastic used. So i bought a third… with a mangled section… To steal the barrel :) (And save the nib)

generally, i use a “51” or a Wing Sung 601.   But the nibs on the 61s are great!

Great pens. Let down by bad plastic.

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

sorry if I am braking the rules here  but aren't there people just selling the arrows?
i.e https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224367361776

There used to be a site that also sold them but it doesn't appear to be there anymore :(. last I checked was several years ago.

Unfortunately, it is really difficult to reattach the arrow once it’s missing. I think you did a great job on this. I have 3 red 61’s as I love that color. Fortunately for me, they all have their arrows.
